LuxorV Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 (edited) At the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, you can choose your dinner: there's a strange talking animal who wants to be eaten, and says that. Arthur and Trillian are a bit shocked by this... From: Restaurant at the End of the Universe - D. Adams More pics. The scene should include Ford and Zaphod, but I had some puzzlement about how to make a two-headed, three-armed Zaphod :-/ , so they don't appear in this vig. Anybody did it 8-| ? Hinckley Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I don't know this book or any of Adams' work but I love this vig. It's well-built and very amusing! Of course, I'm a sucker for anything that uses Fabuland pieces-especially the figs... :-$ Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted November 14, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted November 14, 2007 An animal that wants to be eaten :-D Nice little scene in this vig. Thanks to Hinckley and guys like you I'm also falling in love with the Fabuland figs *wub* . Quote

Thanks to Hinckley and guys like you I'm also falling in love with the Fabuland figs *wub* . And, expect to see more of these Fabuland in my next MOCs... expecially a certain walrus, a bulldog, and a crocodile I just got from BL ;-) LuxroV Quote
Shadows Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I would have voted for this, without a doubt, just on principle. I almost built it myself (though I would have been stuck for how to ldraw it without fabuland figs in the system), both for the possibility of using a similar title and because it's so thoroughly exposes the genius/madness of DA. Great job! *wub* Talking Hamburger On! *y* Quote

Hinckley Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Okay, I give up. What's the table base made out of? The more I look at this the more cool detail I see. I'm not big fan of vigs, but I really like your furniture construction and attention to detail... :-) Quote
Vader Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Wow that's a really simple and yet effective moc you have made there *y* I love the fact that the floor colour matches the cows face X-D Quote

Hinckley Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 oh duh!!!! :-$ oops. For some reason, it looked like the base was square. It looks like it is flush with the tiles from the angle you took the picture. Thanks for clarifying! *sweet* Wow that's a really simple and yet effective moc you have made there *y* I love the fact that the floor colour matches the cows face X-D Actually that's another Luxor V camera trick. The Fabuland cow-head red is a unique color. It doesn't truly match the red of those tile. Geez, do I sound like a know-it-all? Let that be a lesson-don't mis-color-match Fabuland on Hinckley's watch! :-| :-P That's why I'm thankful this is an online community because in real life this is where I'd be whacked or thrown in a garbage can... :-/ Quote

Shadows Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Well how ever it was done it looks great :-) I can't remember if it was actually stated in the book or not, but to me the red floor is much like the red painted decks of a pirate ship, designed to hide the blood, or in this case, symbolize that the polite cow standing before you is about to be slaughtered for your eating pleasure. Deep, huh? *wacko* Quote

iamded Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Heheh, great! Each one of these reminds me of the book, I really need to buy it! ~Peace Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 ROFLMAO. :-D I love your Adams vigs. This is one of the more...bizzare parts of the series. Quote
Siegfried Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Very smart! *wub* I love that cow; if I was to pick a second favourite fabuland character it would be the cow. (Number three would probably be the elephant.) I have no idea of how you could do Zaphod, but I bet Chuck could think of a way. :-P Great work. *sweet* And, expect to see more of these Fabuland in my next MOCs... expecially a certain walrus, a bulldog, and a crocodile I just got from BL ;-) LuxroV :-P Is there a Walrus mech coming? :-D Quote

Say after 15th dec ;-) . LuxorV Quote

El Bucanero Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 That Douglas Adams fellow has great humour!! :-D An almost studless vig! Very nice and clean scene. Those Fabuland figs are quite cool. Perhaps I can put them to good use.. Like a figurehead perhaps.. Quote

Of course, I'm a sucker for anything that uses Fabuland pieces-especially the figs... :-$ Hinckley, you should definitely check out Hitchhiker's Guide sometime. I think the humor (or "humour" I guess, since Adams was British) would be right up your alley. Lots of random silly nonsense. I watched the Hitchhiker's movie again this past weekend. It's ... okay. I can't make myself like it as much as I WANT to like it. It actually starts off great, but goes wildly off the tracks about half-way through, and just kind of meanders to the end. And since today is Thursday, I feel obligated to add, "This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays." Quote

But then it goes down a lot, with all those strangeness about Zaphod's second head being held as hostage, the super-weapon (which is probably inspired to the 3 Quote
