Athos Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 This is one of my entries for the CCC5 at classic-castle. Actually its something I did a few months ago, as a set piece for my next JT story, but have been holding for the contest. I'd appreciate any suggestions for improvements, so I can make them before officially entering it. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/CC...gFarm/farm1.jpg The whole agrarian gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=284924 Steve Quote
casewindu Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I also suggest you get some cows or bulls or something from Brickforge, just to make it a little more farm like ;-) It is very nice though, what an ugly mermaid! :-X :-D Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 A viking farm is very original! *y* I'm only making a regular farm (mediveal, of course!) ;-) I like it and I like the shore line/beach. The only suggestion I'd make is work on the building's roof. I like where you're going with the plants on the roof, but try using these: Weird, I'm giving my competition suggestions! :-D ;-) Quote
iamded Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 This is very nice! I like the field, with the guy reaping the grain, and the Viking post with skull and shield is a nice touch. *y* Nice addition with the mermaid, although in that pic the net makes her look like she has an eye patch. *wacko* :-P My only gripe is the grass on the roof, I think SirNadroj made a good suggestion. *sweet* ~Peace Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I like the use of the mermaid piece. Red-headed mermaid... *wub* (If anyone wonders, my new girlfriend is a redhead, so... :-$ ) Quote
Wout Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Very nice moc. I hope they don't eat that strange fish :-D good luck with the contest Quote
Siegfried Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I like it but I think some parts are a bit sparse, especially the field itself. More plants perhaps? Ridges maybe? I think a rock or two or some wood on the beach would break up the beach as well. I agree with SirNadroj's piece suggestion; the plants on the roof look to obvious to me. While I think the mermaid is funny, it does move your creation into fantasy which seems a bit odd to me since you seem to otherwise be doing something realistic. Quote
