I have built a "Card Dealer" using raspberry pi with camera, some sensors, and 2 PF-Motors.

It can sequential or random deal, recognize card, and play "13支"(Chinese Poker).

Deal 52 cards into 4 separate piles in 4.6 seconds. (Turbo mode)

And a "Lite" version.

I am damn impressed with the distribution of poker cards. Will be damn useful to deploy it during Chinese New Year celebrations.

Real nice video demos as well. Thank you for sharing.

Hi,

Welcome to EB!

This is a very nice creation to introduce yourself with. Well done

I am very interested to know how you prevent the machine from dealing double cards? Is there any special mechanism, or you simply use new cards and the weight of the pile prevents double cards from being dealt?

Thank you for liking it.

There are LEGO tires blocking at the other side, and use a rubber band(I will use spring instead next time) for pull up the card box.

This is a robust mechanism so it can work very well even at high speed.

The Lite version only use the weight of cards with a tire for the last few cards(too light).

There is a mechanism for blocking also.
