carnage717 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 (edited) So my next custom interceptor is one for Mace Windu. This is sort of based off the Hasbro Transformers Interceptor which is where the purple color comes from. For this one I fixed alot of the problems people have been complaining about, most notably the front section by just below the canopy where you could see the technic holes and the cockpit. I alos filed in the back, lengthened the engines and added some angled part to the bottom to cover up the stupid missile shooters. To finish it off I made a custom color sticker sheet for it based on the sticker sheet from set 75135 and fixing a few issues with the sticker sheet like rotating the open circle fleet symbol 90 degrees to match the movie version of the interceptor. Overall I'm really happy how this turned out and I think it fixes a ton of issues with the set. I think im going to end up ordering all the parts I used for this one and fix my office 75135 set, especially the cockpit part. The front fix. I covered up the technic holes and addes some cheese wedges to cover it. The new cockpit. I ended up pulling the long rod out of complete model, pulling out that stupid section with the two pins in it. I really does serve no purpose other than to just take up space that could have been used for a proper cockpit. New lengthened engine and added parts to the back to fill in some holes. Better look at the bottom you see all the parts I filled in and better look at the front part. Edited March 10, 2016 by carnage717 Quote
Forresto Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 It looks really great in purple. Proof again Mace Windu is one of the coolest Jedi Quote
Terrasher Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Wow, the colour purple is very, very nice. The customization of the stickers' colour skyrockets this MOC's visual appeal. I haven't seen many MOCs depicting different kinds of Eta Interceptors. It's usually the Delta starfighters that get more fame, so seeing one of the Eta's is very welcomed. Quote
carnage717 Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 Yeah I love the purple color for some reason it just really pops. Here is a shot of the sticker sheet. I took me awhile to get the purple color right but I think it was worth the work. Just realized I put the wings on backwards when I took the first set of pics here they are the correct way Also here is a pick of part I removed from the cock that does nothing structurally for the set and takes up a ton of space in the cockpit. HawkLord Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 That purple looks great! Really takes me back to when Hasbro made various purple things for Mace - like his own purple starfighter and his purple clone trooper. Very nicely done. Quote

HawkLord Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I think he did have a purple astromech in one set. Quote
momoe Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Great job. Really turned out nice especially with your custom stickers! Quote
Ellisss_ Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 This is great! The purple is perfect . Fantastic job with the stickers look like they have come straight from TLG! You definitely need a astromech droid though! Quote

Oppl Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Really nice, I'm sure Samuel L. Jackson would approve of it. Quote

Carnage - can you do a slight breakdown of your cockpit mod (particularly the connection of the hinge with 2x2 plate)? My Vader interceptor is almost and I want to make the cockpit changes before I post pics to your Vader interceptor thread! Thanks! Quote
strider117 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Custom stickers! Very nice, reminds me of Mace Windu's eta-2 in that clone wars movie we got in what, like 2006? Anyone? Anyway nice MOC/D Quote
carnage717 Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) Carnage - can you do a slight breakdown of your cockpit mod (particularly the connection of the hinge with 2x2 plate)? My Vader interceptor is almost and I want to make the cockpit changes before I post pics to your Vader interceptor thread! Thanks! Here is everything I used for the cockpit. The first thing you need to do is pull the long pin that goes through the middle of the cockpit. once its removed you can pull the whole assembly i posed earlier out along the 1x2 rounded slopes, keep those as you can reuse them on the back of the seat to finish it off. Take a 1x2 technic with hole or cross in and slide it down the assembly hole and push the pin back into positions. As seen here Next you can either fill in the hole with 1x2 plate or leave it, its going to get covered up so I just leave it empty. Add your 2x4 plate to the front and whatever tile you want to use for side controls and the 1x2 plate on the back of the seat. Nexe add your hinged piece, whatever you want to use for controls and can use those 1x2 rounded tiles to finish off the back seating area if you choose too. Third add your control panel tile to the hinged part and finally add your 1x2 sloped pieces to finish it off. If you really want to something else to finish it off you can add a 1x3 wedge plate (left and right) underneath the side control panels and controls. and while you have the cockpit torn apart if you want to fix the front of the cockpit to cover up those annoying technic holes , here is a something I did. pull out the 1x2 reverse bracket, and add a 2x4 reverse bracket. put your 2x2 black plate back on top of that along with the front windscreen assembly. Then you can add some bits and pieces to finish of the front how ever you like, anything is better than those technic holes showing. Edited March 26, 2016 by carnage717 Quote
Only Sinner Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Great build here, the changes you did look like real improvements and I especially like the color. Quote
