I had the opportunity to visit a lego store and bought, besides some pab cups, a few minifigs. At home I noticed that all of these figs have bigger than usual hands. Anyone noticed the same?

Huh, that's peculiar. Can you post a photo to illustrate (ideally one of the torsos with these hands next to a "normal" one)?

That is one manic unicorn. I approve!

I have not noticed anything untoward from my BaM figures. They use spare stock from discontinued CMF series and sets (I have a few nice torsos from themes I never got around to purchasing Big Box sets from), so it is all regular LEGO.

There might even be a glut of Chima parts arriving soon, seeing as the theme is over.

One of the times I looked in the BAM bins they had a lot of cats with misprinted faces, but that is the only irregularity I noticed.

I want to see a comparison pic of these oversized hands as well. Maybe a Seinfeld MOC is in order...

the difference in size is of course very subtle, its not like its doubled in size or something, but still noticeable,

what do you think?

its kinda difficult to see I guess - so if anyone purchased those minifigs lately, please check if you can see a difference in hand size compared to figs released in a set

Hmm, yes, that is odd. There is also a visible seam in the moulding of the hand. Though that torso was CMF, so maybe there was a mild issue in that batch of hands that still passed?

I am surprised it passed quality control.

I bought a total of six minifigs and all of them have this sort of hands... its not a major issue to be honest, but still... fact is I realized it at home and if I had know about it before I would have still bought them as those kind of torsos are hard to come by for me (at least for a decent price)

Come to think about it, I have a couple of city figs that I dont really care about, maybe I should replace those hands, however, I have read somewhere that lego doesnt endorse this as they might break or something, anyone ever tried replacing hands? Like re-modelling fleshy figs into yellow ones or vice versa?

did it

just replaced the hands on all minifigs; btw the hands were kinda tough to remove compared to the donor figs :)

Do it all the time. It works fine as long as you don't force it. There seems to be two different diameters of the pin part of the hand that gets inserted into the forearm. It's a very small difference that isn't visible to the naked eye. But some hands definitely don't fit into some forearm holes. I think it depends on which factory made them.

Here are some torsos that originally had fleshy hands that I swapped for yellow ones:

@rodiziorobs: Yes please! :laugh:

"She had man-hands." "Man-hands?" "It's like she was part woman, part horrible beast." "Would you prefer if she had no hands at all?" "What would she have, hooks?" "Are hooks more attractive to you, Jerry?" "I dunno, they're pretty cool...."

Man I've seen that episode too many times.
