DuckBricks Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hey all, It's that time of the year where I'm starting to plan my summer vacation, and be decided to travel to somewhere in Europe... I know this is really vague, but can anyone help me out with store recommendations for discontinued sets? I'm looking for Specialized Lego stores or just old toy shops that you know either from experience or word of mouth that carry discontinued Lego sets. I'm asking this because I've come across many Lego jackpots throughout my travels in Europe, but they have been pretty hit or miss based on where I'm traveling. I know of some stores I.e. Peeron in Amsterdam (which I swung by last year to pick up a sealed Homemaker family set for only 30 euros). I know this is pretty broad but can anyone please help me out... Knowing that there's Lego specialty stores selling discontinued sets in a given area will allow to to narrow down my trip locations. Thank you all so much for helping me out!
Wardancer Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I dont know any shops, but maybe https://ebay-kleinanzeigen.de could help. It is different from regular eBay. No auctions, no fees, only local sales from private people. You can enter a City and a radius and then you can search, for example all Lego in 200km around Berlin. It was originally made for selling stuff at home, but most people will ship by mail of you ask them and you pay the Shipping. I think many countries have their own versions like the German one. For example, I just used this to buy rare chima figs for 2 Euro a piece. I almost felt bad because they were so cheap, but then it felt pretty good.
JDL1967 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Check also www.marktplaats.nl a Dutch site. Its owned by Ebay, but no fees or auction. Private people and also shops advertise here. Edited February 24, 2016 by JDL1967
BrickOn Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Outland in Norway carries a lot of discontinued sets, anything from minifigures, starwars to modulars. But they charge the the going rate, however the NOK is very weak, the dollar strong and you can claim most of your VAT back (20%) when you spend more than $50 as you leave the country... plus its Norway so you'll want to visit the fjords and stuff ;-p

I prefer actually going to stores, so this will be great! Thanks for the tip.
