MicVash Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 (edited) Just built this baby about 2 weeks ago. I hope some of you can see where I got my inspiration from. (Jade Falcons from MechWarrior) Kudos if you do or have played the miniatures game. The attributes behind this Mech is simply quick power. I wanted to give it a muscled look, that's why it has big arms, and the ruffled feathers, a sign of anger, seen in the slopes in the arms. Plus the guns give it the appearance of talons and the joints in the arms makes it look like he's flexing or curling. The big arms also are necessary because of the energy sources they contain to power the jets on them and there is a big master jet in the back. Overall, I wanted to make him look like he's a predator, ready to strike. You can check out more pictures at my Brickshelf gallery.http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?msearch=MicVash Comments (and criticism) welcome! 8-| Sorry, first time posting up pictures in a forum, next time I'll know better. ExoBuilder Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 That's really good for a first time mech! I like the green and black color scheme. We hope to see some more mechs from you. Quote
Brickmaster Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I quite like the shape of the mech - especially how I can see the legs working, great job! My only complaint would be that the arms; though they do look muscled; are maybe abit too large for the mech for it to be a quick strike, but it would seem rather hard to size down, but looks just about right either way! *y* Great job, would like to see some full size mechs in the future even - I like how you create joints without the use of the cheap-o galidor or bionicle joints Quote
iamded Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Awesome mech! I tried making a mech using Knihgts Kingdom pieces, but without the "cheap-o" Galidor or Bionice joints I failed miserably! You however have done very well! *y* *y* Cool weapons, design and colour scheme, keep up the good work! :-D ~Peace Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Very nice! I hope to see more mocs of this style from you. Quote
MicVash Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 Thanks for the comments you guys! Yeah I do frown upon the cheap Bionicle joints. Too easy in my opinion. I like making the outer armor and the joint skeleton completely fused together. It gives a more blocky appearance, no skeleton exposed. That's part of the reason why I'm not too fond of the Exo-Force Mechs. It makes mech building too easy and the design cheap. Quote
zero1312 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Very good for the first attempt. :-) I'd like to see more from you too. :-) Quote
Asuka Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 What a wonderful creation, and its blocky charm adds a lot to its overall cool appearance! *y* Perhaps you could find some useful tutorials here. :-) Quote
