Quisoves Pugnat Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 And they were Throwbots in the European market. I believe it's the other way around. They were definitely Throwbots here in the States. Quote
geezerman402 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Yup, Canada was definitely Throwbots. Quote
Logan McOwen Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) Yeah, they were marketed as Throwbots in America/Canada, and Slizers in Europe/Asia/Africa etc. Edited February 15, 2016 by Logan McOwen Quote
Aethersprite Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Wow... These really bring back memories of my childhood. Slizers were as much of my childhood as Bionicle was. Thank you for bringing up this topic! Mega and Super Slizers... Man. Those were the days. Quote
MakutaOfWar Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Were Slizebots(yeah, I did it) any popular back then? I came onto the constraction scene with Bionicle so I never actually heard of Throwbots until 2009, though I did see the figures in the Legend of Metru Nui bonus, Spark annnnnnd the red Roborider. I did, however, secure mint conditioned Blaster, Spark, and Torch a few years ago. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I had a friend who had some Roboriders back when I was a kid... Don't really recall anyone with Throwbots though. Quote

The only reason it was replaced by Roboriders was that Lego hadn't expected its success, and already had another theme designed to replace it by the time the sales results came in (keep in mind that Lego had not yet streamlined their design and production processes to allow them to react faster to sales failures and successes).
