natelite Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 asterios from classic-castle seemed to imply that what AFOLs have been screaming for will be the special 08 set to be revealed shortly in stores near you. question is does anyone know what it is? my theory (did i mention i love mosaic theories? :-P) is there are only three things which afols have been begging for that may be related to castle: - parts pack - ucs castle - civilian medieval sets of these three, which one is most likely to happen? - parts pack we pretty much know 2 from the impulse set, so what's the point of making more??? - civilian medieval sets - what could they possibly make that would be so good? i mean we like civilian sets but that's plural. still likely but definitely not a wow factor set. - which brings us to UCS Castle!!! wohoooo....i hope they make something similar to darkspawn's modular castle!!! that thing is awesome!!! what's your speculation and why? or if you know what the set is going to be, can you give us hints please!!!

But a big castle would make both kids and AFOLs happy, so I think a castle is more likely. We already have impulse sets so I guess it's not that. I hope for the civilian set! If they get a civilian set I really hope for a Crossroads tavern like set! That would make my year! Speculate on *y*

TheFrisian Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Well, in that "designers feedback" topic a while ago there was also talk of a 2008 special. But since the 2007 Dwarfs Mine special has just been released, it would be more logical to assume the 2008 special will be released at a much later date. As to what that special will be, we can only speculate. Although, in the same topic it was mentioned that during the inital design process several civilian models were created, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 2008 special is going to be a Castle Town set consisting of several (modular) civilian buildings. I for one would be very happy with some medieval civilians, it adds a bit more depth to the theme as a whole. Still, I definitely wouldn't mind a UCS Castle set either, especially when it's as well designed and detailed as Cafe Corner.

(By the way: I would not be interested in an UCS castle but that's of course no argument.) I hope that this set will be a set with medieval citizens - but with nice ones and no ugly cratures like trolls, undeads & co. Something tells me that there will because the good knights got a big castle this year so i think the bad guys will get a big castle this time and the goodies will get a smaller fortress. So pretty much this year except turned around.

Ok, as long as we can guess anything, I say it will be a 10,000 piece Castle Super Set with a huge detailed castle with high walls enclosing a kingdom of civilian sets, carts and shops etc. The Castle will have a grand ballroom and throne room and grand staircase. It will also include a huge steampunk airship and a brick built dragon that looks real and has working organs...
