Well I got an email late last night, from Eurobricks:

Now isn't that nice? :look: Apparently, not only is it apparently not ok to post things 'obviously meant as fun', but it also seems that saying 'lighten up' is now classed as abusive behaviour. In addition, I did give an answer to the question, after my 'lighten up' response.

I'm going to word this very carefully (I don't want another warning!). It appears that my comments were not taken in the spirit in which they were meant. So, in an attempt to show greater 'courtesy and respect towards other members of this community', I will no longer use the phrase 'lighten up' on this forum. :hmpf_bad:

Just.. WOW!

Reactions like that from moderators makes me wanna leave the forum!

If you wanna kill the community, just keep sending warnings to active people in the community.. or maybe the MOD should do as you suggested, and ease up a bit - especially since no one seems to have complained about the post.. I get sooo tired...

First of all, it was me that issued the warning, and I copied it to Paperballpark...which I did not have to do.

If you were to reread the warning, any and all of you, I had no problem with the topic. It's about trains, it's in the Trains forum, and it is a fun post, which I have no problem with. The issue arose when a mod, who is responsible for this forum, questioned the post. I'm trying to figure out why it would be ok to back talk a mod and tell him to lighten up? I really don't see any situation that would require that kind of a response, and that is why I issued the warning. In my opinion, abusive behavior was the category it fell into, and not other, so that is how I marked it. If you do not like it and you think I was in the wrong for giving you a warning, you are more than welcome to bring this to my attention and speak with me, or another moderator.

And I'm sorry you want to leave the forum marook, not all jokes transfer to everyone else when written out, especially between people of many different nations...so even though it may have been meant as fun, and that's the way I saw it, the incorrect action of telling off a moderator was what led me to create the warning and inform Paperballpark about why I did it. And yes, someone did complain and report the post.

So I guess if I really want to ruin the community, I should stop sending out warnings when they are based on a violation of our site guidelines, right?

Could it also be that we have all a little different taste of humor? Which - in my opinion - is just wonderful! It feels very good to be here. Talking about MOCs, building techniques, ideas, large buildings, entire train worlds, world records, steam punk, the list is endless.

And there need to be funny things as well, I believe. I found this post hilarious - thought "YESSSS" tons of 9V compatible metal track - and than this. Spot on!!! I like this kind of humor ...

And even further - you never know. When Bricksonwheels keeps making things as big as this EMD SD70 Ace locomotive he presented recently in the Technic Forum (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=120736), that track may actually come in very handy!

And most important I believe is what Stash2Sixx wrote in his very kind reply above: "Not all jokes transfer to everyone else when written out, especially between people of many different nations". And then this and that happens, someone reports something, then someone has to respond, then that irritates other people and then it all goes the wrong way. Have seen this sooo often ...

I believe very professional way this is handled (as always on EB) just shows how responsible everyone is. I personally very much appreciate this approach. It makes we want to be here for the future.

And now lets have some fun again ...

Best wishes,

Thorsten
