Some people have said that I have a bad attitude, or post topics that don't belong there. I am here to say that I'm sorry. I didn't mean to have an attitude, I just want to have fun on EB. So if everyone can forgive me, and give me a fresh start, I promise I will be a good member. All I am asking is that anyone who has been offended or anoyed-please forgive me. I will do anything in my power to be a good and helpful member on EB. *sweet*

Thank you for listening.

No worries - we all make mistakes. The only time that's a "tragedy" is if we don't learn from them.

We need young enthusiastic EB members, so keep your enthusiasm... just be a bit more focused.

Gylman puts things so well I'll just say ditto! ;-)

Although I will add that it takes a big person to apologize, so nice job. But the real hard work starts after the apology. Don't forget to keep working at it. I hope you can stick around and have a good time.

To make it into a virtual triple post, I think gylman put it perfectly. I just think your enthusiasm can get out of hand sometimes, but I doubt that you mean any harm. *sweet* It is a very appreciated gesture to apoligise.

You're cool with me. *y*

Look at it this way. Mistakes happen. With maturity (and I don't mean age), they happen less often. Over time, I think we all increase the quality of our posting, but it's a learning process.

When I started here, I didn't feel secure about posting much. :-$

I got past that and probably posted too much. X-O

Now I make about 2/3rds of the posts I start, meaning that I type half of it out and think to myself, "does this really add anything to the discussion?" or at least "is it funny (to me)?" and decide to just skip it.

Right now some of you are trying to figure out just how bad those skipped posts must be, based on the ones I do make :-| X-D

Bottom line... take a deep breath before posting. Reread what you've written. Decide if it's something you want permanently out there as a part of you, and if so, post away. If not, wait for the right moment, the right topic, the right thought, and then put it out there.

Most of all, have fun. :-)

I do the same thing! :-P

I think ImperialShadows describes it very well here. I'm not claiming every post I made is a valuable contribution, I'm sure I've posted lots of dodgy replies. But considering what effect a reply might have on a discussion or on other members sure makes a whole lot of difference.

Er... 8-| I never edit myself...

Me neither! I know it's silly, but I just don't want people to think I posted something really stupid that needed editing. Sometimes I wish I could edit without it showing in the post though, just to correct the odd typo now and then. I know, I'm weird. *wacko*

I use the preview ability several times in most cases, check that my tone is correct and clear, look for over use of words... etc. In short, I try to treat forum posts the same as I do work EMails! :-$ As I say, I am a self servicer.... :-D To me this isn't about "editing yourself", it is more ensuring that what you type is what you mean. English is a horrible language as it is so easy to be unclear, and I like to reduce the chance of misinterpretation. Sometimes I end up deciding that what I want to say can be seen the wrong way too easily so I just don't say it.

Unfortunately half of my messages are done in a bit of a rush, as I usually am being hassled to get off the PC, so some of my messages come out with the meaning rather blurred, or the message very short, like this one!!
