Space Police XVIII Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 So, I've been trying to convert that into a totally awesome hoverboard, awesomeness optional, and can't quite figure out how to go about it.. here's my question. Can anyone suggest me parts that fit those little axle holes? The long antenna does but it's a long antenna. The radio antenna likewise, but, well, no. Those robot arms are almost okay, but the hand portions are too long to allow using one per side. The ring portion of that 1x1 whatsit isn't a very secure hold. -zenn had an interesting approach here that uses minifig hands. Looks great, but they're not a perfect fit and I dislike using disembodied hands anyway. Cutting off the axle holders is right out, but the alternative is stacking on greebling until the thing's the size of a small spaceship...any suggestions? Quote
GallardoLU Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 First thing that comes to mind is maybe try the snow board. I know it is longer, but the bottom is far smoother, and easier to build from. Quote

I know it is longer, but the bottom is far smoother, and easier to build from. That's true, but I really want to use this thing. It vexes me! A thorn in my SIDE. In my space city four wheels is anathema. How about simple antenna? That's a great idea, has potential. Thanks, I'll play around with it. I found something that works in the meantime. Narrow-barrel revolvers fit like they were made for this space. There's the Mk.I, I'll give it proper greebling later. Quote
tkatt Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Looks like you found a great solution, but I'll still share what I found. Quote

I threw it out just last week. Nice idea. Looks like I'll need more harpoons in my life. That center section, is it standard bar thickness? Quote
tkatt Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 The straight middle section of the sprue is just slightly thinner than a bar. A clip or minifig hand will hold it, but not tightly. The C shaped part is standard bar thickness. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Alright, thanks! Looks like I need to get some harpoons, experiment. Quote
-zenn Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Syringes also fit those small axle hole... Or stick something underneath in the centre, like an Travis brick, then work your way around those holders. Edited February 5, 2016 by -zenn Quote
