PiratesLegoFan Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) In what theme would you categorize the following sets? Pirates, Soldiers, Imperial Guards, Imperial Aramada or not decided? Oh, how can I change the title? I made a spelling mistake "there" = "theme". Edited October 29, 2007 by PiratesLegoFan Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 These sets can't really belong to any fraction I feel. I suppose you could always say that in a set of say 5 with 3 pirates and 2 imperials that the set is technically a pirate one but then what do you do with 1 on 1??? It's not a bad question but in the end these are just shade of grey sets, if anything you'd use them to add to existing sets. Free standing figures without a ship or land base of some sort aren't really much of a set in themselves anyway. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) These are what I would call the "predescessor" to battle packs. They belong in a catagory of their own! X-D Edited October 29, 2007 by Lt. Col. Thok Quote

X-D I agree they belong in a category of their own only i call this category mini-fig packs. Except for the first one i'd consider as imperials The "pirate" in that set is often used in imperial sets too P Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted October 30, 2007 Governor Posted October 30, 2007 Oh, how can I change the title? I made a spelling mistake "there" = "theme". I have corrected the title for you. When I first read it I was confused as all hell. *wacko* Quote
Shadows Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 These fall under the "please LEGO, produce more of this" line ;-) Seriously, figure packs have always been a class of their own, as said already. I kind of appreciate it when things don't fit a definite pattern. I don't want background information to my sets, I don't need a storyline, so putting them in a specific subtheme doesn't mean anything to me. I just had a funny, unrelated thought. LEGO should have put out a Halloween set with some of these and some of the old castle and space torsos as kids trick-or-treating. A cheap way to reuse something old, and sell a load of them in the process. Oh well. Quote

But then one would have to consider that all sets which include pirate-looking minifigs but no pirate flags can actually include normal sailors, and that would completely mess things up :-) Edited October 30, 2007 by Dreamweb Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I just call em "treasure packs!" as most of them come with some treasure chest in which the pirates and Imperial or Armada soldiers are fighting over. Quote

Thanks :) You're such a lucky boy I'm here to help! X-D Quote
