Vader Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Wow sounds like a good oppertunity to shout at him about how crap ep1 was :-D ;) Quote
MattZitron Posted April 19, 2005 Author Posted April 19, 2005 Wow sounds like a good oppertunity to shout at him about how crap ep1 was :-D ;) For the final time, Episode 1 was not crap. It wasn't the best film, but it was still enjoyable. I will forever stand by this. How can a film with such a fantastic lightsaber battle be crap? Quote
Vader Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Chill matt im just toying around, as for the lightsabre duel it was by far the best one that weve seen yet and i hope that the final duel lives up to the first one. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 19, 2005 Governor Posted April 19, 2005 A great light saber duel does not make a great movie however. It may be a highlight, but it does not excuse the film from its atrocities. Quote
MattZitron Posted April 19, 2005 Author Posted April 19, 2005 There's not many atrocities. JarJar is not bad. Just look at the EWOKS! I liked Ep 1. Compared to the other films its not that bad. Obviously it'd never be as good as ANH and Empire. But that's hard to do. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 19, 2005 Governor Posted April 19, 2005 I am a real life Jar Jar Binks... I have no problems with him at all, except what was he doing in Episode I? He must have been miss-cast. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I do agree with Matt, Its far from being the best movie but apart from the lightsaber duel which is great, I really love the ground battle (It ressembles Spartacus so much). If you look at ep2, the 3/4 of the movie is horrible, slow and boring. It gets much better towards the end. The beggining is soooooo slow :'( The "love" scene is boring, Anakin gets on my nerves as much as Jar Jar... It gets much better when our heros are rescued from Geonosis by the clonies :) By the time ep 2 ends, you have to wake up for ep3 :-D That's a REAL treat, movies and fun stuff, SW all day long yipyyyyyyyyyy *satis* Quote

It was *Cough*crap *Cough* because of *Cough*crappy Jar Jar *Cough* :-D but the lightsaber duel was cool :) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2005 Governor Posted April 20, 2005 Will Episode 3 surpass Titanic at the Box Office? However, taking inflation into account Gone With The Wind and Star Wars: A New Hope grossed more than Titanic at the box office. Quote
Vader Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I think if jar jar had of been done in the OT he would of been accepted, but in this day and age he wasnt. Like wise if c3po was first seen in ep 1 i believe that alot of people would of had a problem with him. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2005 Governor Posted April 20, 2005 I've heard whispers that after The Empire Strikes Back was first released many people complained of how annoying 3CPO was. So maybe your theory has credance. Quote
MattZitron Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 Will Episode 3 surpass Titanic at the Box Office? However, taking inflation into account Gone With The Wind and Star Wars: A New Hope grossed more than Titanic at the box office. I reckon it will. I think it will fufill all the promises of fighting, explosions and violence. But isn't Spiderman 2 the highest grossing film of all time? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2005 Governor Posted April 20, 2005 I shall look into this matter later on... Quote
Vader Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 No Titanic is still top followed by ANH, spiderman 2 is down lower on the list. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2005 Governor Posted April 20, 2005 It depends exactly which list you look at. Different regions have different figures, I.e. A New Hope is #2 on the US list, but #8 on the International List. But what is unanimous is Titanic is No. 1... On every list... So that's what Return of the Sith must beat.... Approximately: US$600,779,824 That figure also varies slightly from list to list. MattZitron Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 Screw all that. I GOT A TICKET!!!! My brothers lined up from 1am to get us them. Life is good. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 25, 2005 Governor Posted April 25, 2005 Apparently I've had a ticket to a midnight screening on the first night for a few weeks now... But that's quite dull in comparisson to what you've got tickets for. Quote
