Jim Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 If this is motorized, the receiver is new. I don't see an antenna or the telltale ir receiver bump. I'm still hoping for a surprise
Kaanere Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Red, the set will be red. It's the colour used in the presentation and in official pictures for the 911 991 GT3 RS. BTW, I aslo saw one of these in a local car meeting. Big rear wing.
JJ2 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 This thing is awesome! I really hope I can afford this set eventually
Philo Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Could it be Bluetooth BLE remote controlled, with a receiver similar to WeDo2?
Jim Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Okay, I haven't seen any catalogue or something, so I am completely in the dark. And I'm not saying that you are all lying, but it's hard to determine which rumors are true and which are not (since most of you are claiming different things)....so will go out on a limb here... Am I the only one considering the option that the car will actually be black, the camo stickers will be included and the box design is final?!
brunojj1 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 .... I really must admit I didn´t get so excited for a long time ! Those fenders / panels / wheels / brakes (?) / gearbox definitely set a milestone in the development. Thanks Jim, you made my day!
Jim Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Could it be Bluetooth BLE remote controlled, with a receiver similar to WeDo2? Stop it. You're driving us crazy If so, the chances of the box design being final are slim to none. TLG will surely advertise new PF elements. It might exlain the price tag though. .... I must admit, I am pretty excited myself. No thanks, I just created the topic and used the images I found online.

I considered it too, I like the stickers on it, it's something different than another red supercar, it's similar to the series of car sets released in 2006 like the Nitro Intimidator, it had black bodywork with stickers of flames.

spongebrickpl Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 In the back of the car there is something large and light bluish gray- maybe battery box. Where is receiver? There is something under front windscreen- maybe IR receiver? So Jim dont complain about no HoG:) So now You know why it may be expensive. Color- well maybe multi color with many stickers and logos like race cars.
Paul Boratko Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 No HOG steering or am I missing something? First thing that I noticed as well, which leads me to believe that this will be RC..
cloud Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 As noted by another earlier, the new panels are black. Why would TLG make black panels that will never be sold? Maybe what they will release is the shell that we see with as of yet unknown remote control. Probably intended to look like this ultimate street legal trim: If TLG were to include all of the stickers we see I may just put them on for the first time.

JJ2 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Did anyone else see the new short version the THIS panel in the door?
Paul Boratko Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) 8448 didn't have hog if I recall. Yes, but it was very easy to get to the steering wheel.. And talking about the steering wheel, is it me or does it seem like it is oddly placed and kind of low..? Look at where the dash is and where the steering wheel is in that side view picture.. And If not just make it available as a pre-order for those willing to get it before the final release is out, as a special edition
deehtha Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Did anyone else see the new short version the THIS panel in the door? It also looks like there is another one in front of the rear fender as well
muffinbrick Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Yes, it looks like 7studs long version of it.
Vectormatic Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 It looks like a porsche allright, and the bodywork is impressive BUT, it still is a 1:10 scale car, like 8653 and 8145. Now obviously this model has more filled in bodywork, presumably more technical features (the ferraris were really sparse with that), and some custom parts, but i dont see how a build that size would warrant a $300 pricetag, unless they crammed it with PF parts. Id pay €150-200 for a set like this, from what im seeing now, €300 gets you straight into highest quality MOC territory, and honestly, there are many, many cars i would prefer to display over a 911

No, you are not the only one - could be final but in that case I hope it's all printed, NO stickers!
Ondra Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I think that they use PF 2.0 with this set and thats why they use these stickers, because isnt finished and Porsche didnt want probably unfinished model put on display so they use this tactics. Also this will explain why there isnt HOG.
allanp Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Anyone else notice that on the box it says 16+ ?
