Cameron_Talley Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I don't think I've ever had a dark age. I do have several hobbies so my day-to-day interest in Lego tends to come and go (I go through phases), but I don't think a year has gone by since my early childhood that I haven't gotten at least one Lego set. legobagel Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I didn't skip it- I just had it when I was 7. Pretty lucky, considering sets weren't as good back then. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I have been lucky, I never really had a a dark age, maybe a gray age where I just built occasionally.... that was around early 2005 to early 2007, when LEGO just didn't offer anything I liked. They got rid of 9v trains and replaced them with RC, which my 12 year old self in 2006 couldn't believe was true. It really broke my heart to see 9v go, but then I discovered set 7997 (2007's Train Station) and 7996 (RC double crossover) that brought me out of my depressed slump. I still have both models to this day. (I heavily modified the train station, though) Quote
Andy D Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I never had a "Dark age" because I never had Lego as a child or teen. I had Erector sets! As an adult I bought LEGO for my son, he lost interest, I didn't have a superate interest in LEGO when he was a child. I had a brief interest in the early 1990's because my wife bought sets for me for Christmas as a gag. It was kind of a Christmas time only interest. My real full-fledged interest started in 2008 with Mindstorms, then onto Technic. My interest has been constant since then, moved from Technic to Modular Buildings in 2010 and a rekindled interest in Technic in mid to late 2015. Now my interest is mainly Technic, with a continuing (though less interest) in Modular Buildings and Winter Village. So my interest in Lego has always been as an adult (now a retired adult).
