natelite Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 wow...look at this moc of the dwarf's mine by rebelrock. he posted in classic-castle. a beauty ain't it? *wub* though if i were to change it, i would have the blacksmith located on top of the hill. all that detail... *wub* the smelter for the steel forging, the dwarf lady adds a homey touch to the hill cottage, the dwarf farmer selling exoforce hairpiece cabbage and carrots, the lazy mountainking laying on top of the hill, the orcs troll warriors scaling the little tower (whatever for is beyond me... :-| there's nothing on top, remember? :-P) Edit Bonaparte: Split off from the Dwarves' Mine Review because this one really deserves a thread of its own. Hinckley Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I did see that. It's quite beaudtiful. Maybe you should start a new thread for it so more people are likely to see it. Quote

Yes, I just saw it at Brickshelf. That is one perfect Dwarf mountain! It is so detailed and nice. That's the way i want it to rebuild in a mountain... Someday. *wub* *y* Quote
Johnny 5 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Th e mountain is the ultimate dwarves mine. It captured the scenario beautifuly in my mind. Quote
TheFrisian Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 When the first pic of the Dwarfs Mine was released, probably most of us imagined how this set could be built into a mountain to make it more like a real mine. Now that the set is available, it was just a matter of time until someone actually tried to build a mountain around it. Rebelrock has made some great MOCs before, and this one doesn't fail to impress either! He has paid a lot of attention to the detailing and put in a lot of minifig action, which makes it great fun to look at, study and admire his creation. *sweet* *y* Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted October 26, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted October 26, 2007 Great find Natelite. I just love this MOC. Incredible scenery... best dwarf MOC I've seen until now. I'm wondering if there is something inside the mountain... I'll invite the creator to this thread in a few days. Quote
Asuka Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 A wonderful work with a neat landscaping and a very lively arrangement of MFs! *y* There Quote
Wout Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Very good Rebelrock! *y* *wub* I like all the details, great! The pig and the ox are nice additions. The mine car out of the hill (in Holland we would call this a mountain X-D ) looks more natural than the mine track from the official set where the ore goes around. About the Dwarven woman: I was just used to the idea that Dwarf women also has a beard, but this lady shaved herself, I think :-P . Quote
Nyundi Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 This MOC is fantastic! When the first pic of the Dwarfs Mine was released, probably most of us imagined how this set could be built into a mountain to make it more like a real mine. Funny, the image in my mind was always of the inside of the mountain. Kind of a Moria feel: I definitely imagined that the structure that came in the set was completely enclosed in rock :-) I only have one mine so far, but in another month or so I want to pick up a few more, and maybe I'll go to town and try to make an inner mine scene ;-) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 27, 2007 Governor Posted October 27, 2007 Well this is bloomin magnificent! I like the "earthly" colour scheme with the right balance of brown, green and grey. There's some quite nice details here like the mine cart and the furnace, but I suppose the mine cart doesn't really count since it's straight from 7036. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Ooh! Lovely. *wub* The mountain is more of a hill, but still, it is great! I the small details such as the dwarf lady, the troll warriors climbing up and the landscaping! *wub* *wub* Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I saw that! *wub* It's so well done! LEGO should have made something like that ~ it certainly looks more mine-ish than the official one! *y* Quote

LEGO should have made something like that ~ it certainly looks more mine-ish than the official one! *y* Nice thought there Nadroj, but if TLC really had made the set like this, it would be so expensive only a handful of people would've actually been able to buy it. Still, the idea is very appealing... Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Fantastic X-O! The natural feel the hillside has is awesome! I love that forge and the way the builder integrated elements from the set into it. I love that tower and the structures cut into the rock. Quote
iamded Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 This is awesome! I love the detail, I wish I had that much foliage pieces! It's great from any angle, built really well. Awesome, Rebelrock! *y* *y* ~Peace Quote
SWMAN Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 WOW! I am really impressed with your moc. You did a great job taking the mining aspect of the set and incorporating it into a totally new setting. I love the hill. It is really detailed and looks completley real. Great moc. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted October 28, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted October 28, 2007 Seems like a good time to invite the creator. I've just contacted him and provided a link to this thread. Quote

Apache Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Props to the artist. They make me want to go there. Give up the smelly gasoline cars, deadlines, meetings, pollution, fast food and pick up the blade and slay some orc. Great Moc great design! Quote
