Greetings! I just stumbled upon this site via the St. Louis Yahoo Lego club's emails. Although i am just a lurker, i do appreciate the lego banter. My daughter and i have been actively buying and building for about 2-3 years. w/ the inspiration of all of you enthusiasts, we have been inspired to create a rather large layout. I personally enjoy creating landscapes but always look through brickshelf and brickwiki trying to learn about all of the SNOT techniques and other 'advanced' techniques.

Welcome toe EB!

Is "The Titanic sails at dawn" a Bob Dylan reference?

Pure landscapes or part of a theme display, like a huge English countryside with a castle?

Be sure to look around, you'll find more SNOTs on here than you can possibly imagine, and that's just some of us X-D

I'm in Mt. Vernon...about 45 minutes north of Carbondale. However, i grew up in Hillside, which is a suburb of Chicago.

Thanks folks! This forum is great. I've been a member of the Yo Joe boards since it was basically started. I haven't visited there in a couple of months, but it's nice to have a forum to check on again. I sell GI Joes on eBay (eBay handle = toemasii) so it's been tough trying to divide my time between Joes, family, and building.

Nonetheless, I'm going to have to grow some nads about posting my lay-out. While we spent hours and hours building, tearing down, and building, I do have to admit that my inspiration came from you guys on Brickshelf and MOC pages... Not that i ripped stuff off, just started w/ an idea and went from there.

I hope as my building experience expands, i can be more original w/ my MOCs. On this note, would anyone recommend that 'Unofficial" lego guide (The book)? I just found Brick Journal too and am really excited about getting a hard copy of it.

Peace!

tom

Bob Dylan or Robert Zimmerman...something like that ;-) Desolation Row perhaps.
