I was noticing a sever lack of Oktoberfest city MOCs. I am thinking making one, but I am hoping I can get some help from some of the people here.

There are two things I am needing to figure out before it will accurate:

1) How can I best make a polka band, especially the instruments?

2)What can I use for Tyrolean hats?

In case you are wondering what a Tyrolean hat is, it's a typical hat you;d see at Oktoberfest. Here's a good picture:

This will likely be a small MOC at first (32x32), minifig scale festival. Please feel free to comment here if you have any ideas.

Thanks!

I don't know but can I just say - respect to your signature - one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite albums.

Sorry for temporarily hijacking your thread...normal programing can now resume. :-$

This is clearly going to be an improvised theme, so we'll have to stretch a bit to make it work, but I like the idea.

Fabuland included both drums and drumsticks, as shown here:

I have absolutely no idea how those would work with a normal sized minifig.

You could easily use shifter handles for drumsticks and work something out with a 2x2 round brick and round tile top for the drum, in a pinch.

For a Tyrolean hat, the best I can come up with is one of the old green forestmen's hats with a feather plume. It's about as close as it'll get, especially in green.

Hey, thanks! Those forester hats will work great! I didn't even think about those! I knew I could get some great ideas from here. Keep 'em coming, everyone... I really do appreciate it!

The screwdrivers that come on those wheels of 6 tools make pretty good drumsticks. Modern-looking handheld microphones too. Is the drum you want a stationary one, or one of those that is worn on the chest?

I'm looking for a stationary drum, and I already have something worked out for that. I also have an idea for a tuba, clarinet, drum, and keyboard. I already have a bugle from the western sets. That's all I'm going to have for my small Oktoberfest.

I've got chicken/turkey legs for food, barrels for beer, pots and pans for the kitchen, and mugs.

The next thing I am looking for suggestions for is other kinds of food. I know how to make simple burgers, but I am curious as to what other ideas you folks have about making food.

Thanks again!

I know I am 12 years late to this thread, but here I am after searching for Oktoberfest MOCs. I just finished my Oktoberfest in Bavaria MOC. I though about including some live music, but much like you, I skipped it due to not having a clear solution and also just a shortage of Lederhosen minfigures. I also wanted to include a stage with men doing their typical dances and whatnot. I may add them later on, but in the meantime, here is my town build with couple of Bavarian old buildings, a gate tower and whole bunch of drinking and eating and walking about. In front of the blue house those are custom Oktoberfest figures from minifigures.com (seasonal section) and on the right are the Collectible Minifigures (Lederhosen Guys and Pretzel Girls).
