Jedi-Bendu Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Why is (almost) everyone so desperate to get a Ahsoka minifig? Quote
Raskolnikov Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I think it's very possible that Lego could come out with another A-wing at some point in the future, perhaps even within a year or so. As we all know, they have recolored and released sets of small fighter craft a bunch of times. But it seems exceptionally unlikely that they would do this at the exact same time that they release a set where an A-wing is bundled with a TIE. It just doesn't make any business sense. All current A-wing rumors stemmed from the bundle set, and the rumors of Ahsoka coming with an A-wing don't seem to be based on much other than speculation about which minifigures were going to come with the bundle set. True. There was a rumour of Ahsoka... and a rumour of an A-Wing... so people put two and two together. Then the A-Wing was included in the TIE Advance set and people expected to see Ahsoka but it was Sabine. Quote

Supersonic Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Even the two X-Wings are nearly one year apart, and once Rogue One sets come out, the TFA sets will be gone pretty quickly (before January 2017 I guess) - so the two X-Wings won't spend too much time together on shelves. Two A-Wings released at the same time - zero chance. Isn't there usually a big (around 100ish) summer exclusive set? I wouldn't expect the Seventh Sister and Ahsoka in anything cheaper. Quote

The A-wing rumors actually stem from a set list for the Winter wave, which was most definitely not referring to the bundle. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Why is (almost) everyone so desperate to get a Ahsoka minifig? Because the only other figure of her we have is...is...is *whispers* Clone Wars *shudders* Quote
DarthPotato Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 The summer exclusive set for the last several years has been $90 (Sith Infiltrator, MTT, Palpatine's Arrest, etc.). If they really scale it down, they could possibly do a Blockade Runner at that price point. A Rebel Transport that's smaller than the Blockade Runners has also appeared a few times lately, so we could get that instead. I'm really curious how they'll do the Seventh Sister's helmet. It can retract open to reveal her face, but I don't think that would work if they did it like Iron Man's helmet. So I think her helmet would either be permanently opened or permanently closed. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Because the only other figure of her we have is...is...is *whispers* Clone Wars *shudders* Ok, fair enough...but still.....I am wondering why so many people want that fig! Is she that popular? (I think she's one of the least interesting Star Wars characters ever and was more annoying in CW than Mr. Binks in TPM) Quote
Robianco Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Ok, fair enough...but still.....I am wondering why so many people want that fig! Is she that popular? (I think she's one of the least interesting Star Wars characters ever and was more annoying in CW than Mr. Binks in TPM) I actually quite liked her character. I wasn't a huge fan of the Clone Wars... it was certainly better than it's film counterparts but maybe that's why I felt a little disassociated with it. Ashoka on the other hand was a little more interesting due to her being 'Vader's' first apprentice which is certainly going to play out in Rebels. Her leaving the Jedi order of her own volition and her emergence in the rebel alliance is something I'm interested to see. I also think Asajj Ventress was/is an excellent character from the CW and Im glad to now have her as a non-CW figure. Quote
Junior Shark Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 $90 Blockade Runner? That'd be pretty rough, IMO. The last time there was a $90 Rebels set, it sucked (http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-Ghost-75053). As for the Seventh Sister helmet thing, I think it would either be a permanently closed helmet, or she would have a double sided head, with one side of the head featuring a closed helmet print. Quote

Her character arc is just fantastic and she really improves a lot. She's easily my favorite character in the entire Star Wars franchise. I'd say she's one of the most interesting characters in Star Wars after all is said and done, especially with her appearance with Rebels and her relationship with Anakin/Vader. Just watch the last few episodes in TCW season 5 and you'll understand why. Quote

Venkefedo Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Because the only other figure of her we have is...is...is *whispers* Clone Wars *shudders* ...and if we get a non-CW figure of her, we can even, probably, use her head on our CW-style Lego minifigs to make a 'regular' style of her Padawan looks! Ok, fair enough...but still.....I am wondering why so many people want that fig! Is she that popular? (I think she's one of the least interesting Star Wars characters ever and was more annoying in CW than Mr. Binks in TPM) She is that popular. Many consider her one of the best new SW characters in years, despite her annoying personality early on... of course, many consider her as much of a Mary Sue as they think Rey is, but she had a nice character arc throughout the show and grew a lot as a character...and while I know they had more planned for her beyond Season 5, the way they wrote her out of the Jedi in Season 5 was pretty great. Plus, like someone mentioned, potential for new saber blade color! (would they just do trans-clear, or try something new with a trans-white?) I hope she's in a nice set worth getting besides just for her... Quote

darththeling Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) Why is (almost) everyone so desperate to get a Ahsoka minifig? Because she's one of the best Star Wars characters...ever. In addition to her enduring/increasing popularity, we've only had TCW style gigantic eyes so far. It would be the first Ahsoka LEGO minifig to have normalized eyes. That's why we are mad for an updated Ahsoka. Because the only other figure of her we have is...is...is *whispers* Clone Wars *shudders* Personally I won't be satisfied until we see a TCW era version of Ahsoka with normal eyes as well as Rebels-era... time will tell. It's fascinating to me that we still see TCW-era releases coming down the pipeline from TLG. Edited February 8, 2016 by darththeling Quote
Renegade Clone Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Wait what about a B-Wing? I remember in a trailer they were introducing the B Wing to the series. Maybe Ashoka will be in that? Otherwise a blockade runner or the rebel flagship (It looks like a clone wars era medical frigate) would be ideal. The B-Wing prototype (Blade Wing) as seen in SW: Rebels is a likely candidate for a later release this year. Ashoka has no real connection to that ship as she was not in that episode. It would most likely come with Hera and hopefully Quarrie, the Mon Calamari engineer who designed it. Quote
Aethersprite Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 The prototype B-Wing seems to be a good candidate! I'd completely forgotten about it. Doesn't matter that Ahsoka wasn't in that episode, Lego has never cared about that. *ahem* Vader and Sabine? *ahem* Fifth Brother in Rex's AT-TE? *ahem* Quote
fighterpilot105 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I think it would be really cool if Lego made a Kylo Ren helmet in a sculpture style ucs set similar to the darth maul we got way back. Thoughts? Regardless I'm going to attempt to MOC one soon... Quote
djmangunz Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Take this with a grain of salt, but it sounds like the cover artwork for the rogue one sets will be the helmet of the black death troopers that was posted on Twitter a while ago. Those yellow helmets maybe, but I just can't see protagonists wearing that "Death trooper" helmet unless they're disguising themselves as an already established imperial troops. But as you said, either way we'll get great figures! Quote
