Nyundi Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I prefer unprinted armor, however I think that some printed armor should be available (it mixes stuff up). If 1 set out of a theme had a special printed armor, and the rest was plain, that would be great. Mostly plain is better for overall use, but you can't deny that a hero fig should have some kind of distinguishing marks! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I'm not a big fan of printed armor, unless there are a lot of variations. And I'm not real fond of the shiny silver stuff either. I'd like to see just regular armor like what used to come in the old sets.Steve Aye. I'd like to see some armor in bley colors... Quote
Hinckley Posted October 16, 2007 Author Posted October 16, 2007 :-$ Sorry folks, I don't want to saturate the poll with the in-between options. The poll asks, if you had to choose (inferred), which do you prefer? Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 The printed pearl enhances the armour and makes for nice viewing. *y* Quote
Corvus Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Well, printed pearl is nice in it's own right, but metallic is just *wub* . Hinckley, how many Hinckleys do you have? Quote
SupremeCommmanderGrievous Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Although I only have the printed pearl armor, I think I like the metallic armor better. It is not faction specific - and looks much more realistic. I have to say I love the printed black armor parts, the black does not look cheap like the pearl. Quote
Buckshot Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I'm not a fan of the printing, it just limits the faction use...God Bless, Nathan My thoughts exactly--armor should be non-faction specific. Even the skellies need something to protect their vital organs...wait... *skull* Quote
Batbrick Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Voted printed pearl, I like faction specific things. Thats just me, I need order and I like to know whos who X-D I do like metallic armour as well, but ultimately I don't thing armour is that shiny in real life anyway... :-P Good poll idea too! *y* TTFN! >:-) Quote
Chuck Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 One also has to take into account that if only metallic ones were produced, we would have no printed, silver euro armor. I actually like the pearl one better, as the metallic paint wares off over time on the metallic armor. -Chuck Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Unless you're playing with your metallic silver pieces extremely roughly I don't see how they wear...I've never had any problems with them for me Quote
iamded Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 (edited) I'd prefer the printed pearl armour. 1. Because I prefer printed over metallic (goes back to my first silver sword... now it's trans white... :'-( ) 2. Because the printing is cool! Although the other armour is neat too. 1. It's blank, so it would mix well with the many armoured knights collected from the Impulse sets. 2. It can be reused for other factions, not just Crownies. 3. It matches the helmets. There's my input! ~Peace :-D Edited October 17, 2007 by iamded Quote
Lamanda2 Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I picked the plain metallic armor. While the printed versions are nice, and I just love the design on them, I had to choose metallic over pearl. As I have voiced before on other forums, the new pearl pieces are not my cup of tea, it just turns a brilliant piece of LEGO into something like a clone brick, due to the poor quality look of the pearls. I currently own just one suit of the metallic from my Dwarf Mine set, and absolutely love it! Looks nnice like shining metal, and matches the helms. ~Amanda Quote
Shadows Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Plain, absolutely. Now They need to expand into some form of rust/bronze metallic. They can skip printing on armour completely for me, unless they're desperate to denote the king, maybe (maybe... maybe...). Maybe. Did I make my point there? ;-) Quote
natelite Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Unless you're playing with your metallic silver pieces extremely roughly I don't see how they wear...I've never had any problems with them for me i think he's got a point. my golden dwarf helmet also suffered the same problem as yours. the gold paint chipped off at the edges: the wngs, the small studs, and around the edges of the brim. and if that's just from the shipping of the boxes, i kinda dread to know what my 4yo will do to them. Plain, absolutely. Now They need to expand into some form of rust/bronze metallic. Did I make my point there? ;-) yup, i agree. i absolutely love the 3 colors of the dwarf mine set. the bronze, the gold and the silver. too bad all the axe heads are in bronze. now for more metallic euroarmors!!! gimme gold and bronze!! but also keep making those metal speckles too. >:-) they are for my skellies army. Shakar Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I hope that they stick to unprinted metallic silver pieces for the Impulse Sentry set. You can get enough printed armours in the Tic Tac Toe set. Shakar Quote

Yours was like that too? I asked around and nobody else said they had that problem...I figured I just got a bad helm :-/ Even still, the armor is different IMO, can't see it rubbing off so easily Quote
SWMAN Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I can't decide. The printed is better for knights, while un-printed is better for just cavalry or soldiers. I can't decide. Quote
Athos Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Unless you're playing with your metallic silver pieces extremely roughly Well it is armor after all... Steve Quote
zouave Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I like the unprinted armor. It seems more realistic. Quote
Siegfried Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I voted for the un-printed metallic armor. I like my parts to be flexible... 8-| :-$ Sorry folks, I don't want to saturate the poll with the in-between options. The poll asks, if you had to choose (inferred), which do you prefer? That's it! LuxorV Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I like the un-printed metallic one better. As a certain walrus wrote, I too prefer my parts to be flexible *y* LuxorV Quote
goggleson Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 metallic is WAAAY more flexible! *teleports* *votes* Quote
Turaga of Force Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 (edited) Unprinted metallic. I don't like printed, and I perfer metallic to pearl. Edited October 26, 2007 by Gahu: Turaga of Force Quote
Knight55 Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I think they're both good, and since I have a lot of the old and new Castle sets, I think it depends on what theme or faction you want... I voted for Pearl to even it up... X-D Quote
