Tordenskjold Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Based very loose on the Eldorado Fortress. jsut something i made during this weekend here on my pc. its not finished , missing some mlcadfiles to mae the cannons look good and some lanterns and soldiers. Also need a better gun platform. I buildt this just to see what i can do with a raised baseplate like the one from Eldorado. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2007 Governor Posted October 14, 2007 You're certainly off to a good start Mr Tordenskjold! An image 800 x 600 would also make for a better start X-D Quote
SkaForHire Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Looks good so far, can't wait to see it finishted. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Looks good Tjordenskold, you could use some more white bricks on top maybe? Looking forward to the result *y* Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 sure my dear Captain. thats the good thing with mlcad. just click on a brick and i can change colors at once :-D will try to make different colors on the fort. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 Mister, Tordenskjold how tall were you thinking about making Fort Paradise? Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 Hi Mr Phes. i dont know. not much higher than it is now. perhaps a small command place ontop of the entrance but not much higher than it is now. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 You could built turrets in each of the four corners and upon each turret you could have a cannon on a swivel base. Then in the very centre you could have a command post with some cannons on top of that! T'would be a very fortified fortress then. Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 Have done some more building this evening. ang finally got most of the MLCAD files i miss. So here are some more pics of Fort Paradise . The fort isnt finished yet, will try to improve as i learn how to do that and also see what i want to change. More pics HERE Greetings Thunder Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 It's looking good Mister Tordenskjold! Though it does look a bit "flat" - it needs a tower or something to give it a bit of a lift. Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 Its supposed to be flat mr Phes. Fortress in that times had to be made as low as posible to avoid hits from guns . hehe. But i see your point. i might make a sort if tower or something like that to it. but not today. Now im going to sleep.. have a nice night everyone :) Thunder Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 If you're going for historic accuracy then I understand why it needs to be flat. On the other hand if you want an impressive looking MOC then perhaps build a tower. Since you're working in MCLAD it's quite easy to make two different versions. Just save the files as "version a" and "version b" so you can keep them both! Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 I know :-D that i s why i like MLcad so good. its so easy to make different versions :) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2007 Governor Posted October 15, 2007 And you don't have to worry about running out of pieces! Hey wait a minute - aren't you supposed to be in bed? X-D Quote
Siegfried Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I buildt this just to see what i can do with a raised baseplate like the one from Eldorado. I think you have done a very good job of it. *sweet* It is quite well disgused and the parts that show fit in well. Predictably I ask; are you going to build this? I suppose it might be hard to get that many cannon. Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 16, 2007 Author Posted October 16, 2007 Hi there Sinner. I dont know if i am going go buildt in real life. but if i do i think that cannons arent the biggest problem *sweet* but dont know i have a plan of making at least a battery on my raised baseplate. so who knows. Perhaps the Fort Paradise will appear in real life. Pirates beware :-D Thunder Ps mr Phes. i was sleeping. just wrote in my dreams :-D :-D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2007 Governor Posted October 16, 2007 You're a very clever fellow Mr Tordenskjold, what else can you do while asleep? How come you decided to name this MOC Fort Paradise? Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 What programme do you guys use to design stuff like that? I downloaded some lego brick construction thing from somewhere a while ago but it was so crappy. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 17, 2007 Governor Posted October 17, 2007 You'll be wanting MLCAD (Mike's LEGO CAD) Col. Whipstick! Here's a link to the official MLCAD website. Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) You're a very clever fellow Mr Tordenskjold, what else can you do while asleep? How come you decided to name this MOC Fort Paradise? Hehe mr Phes. i can do many things in my sleep. after i went to bed i remember that i had to make an answer to a mail and had to log on again. thats why i was answering so much :-D The name Fort Paradise is from two places. 1: when i was a child i saw the western El Dorado and my father told me that it was the spanish word for Paradise. (this was back in 1990 i think) and i belived for many years that thats what the name means., 2: when the Norsemen settled on Greenland they might give her that name to attract more poeple. and i thought that calling the fortress Paradise would attract more Imperial guards than calling it fort Smith or something like that :-D Thunder PS thanks for all the kind words :) Edited October 19, 2007 by Tordenskjold Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 21, 2007 Governor Posted October 21, 2007 Very clever Tordenskjold! Is Fort Paradise finished or are you going to add more to it? Quote
Tordenskjold Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 I dont know mr Phes. this is a virtual moc now. and more of "what can i make out of that baseplate" so i think i will try to improve it and make it better . like adding things as i learn how to build them. but i cant say for sure what i would do . Thunder Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 22, 2007 Governor Posted October 22, 2007 You were going to add a tower at one point... Quote
