They'd be crazy to not expect people wanting to army build. Honestly they should just do those bundles. Off course they know it's high demand for those parts (that's why they included them), but they think they will sell more copies of the set and earn more money if the part stay exclusive to the set. 11 hours ago, RichardGoring said: Agreed. But it's likely different P&L centres, so the Ideas team think their group can make more money by having the exclusive figures, while the PAB team want to maximize their revenue by getting access to as much as possible. I do not think the Ideas team has anything to do with it, to me it seems different Lego design teams cooperate really well. There are even examples of one team let another team use their new part first, even if the former have used their budget on the part. It is probably someone higher up more concerned about earning more money, probably the same people that have increased the prices on PAB lately, do not seem the PAB team has anything to do with that. At least they can/will not answer questions about pricing and shipping so they probably belong in different departments Quote

This won't be something that designers have any influence over, but the leadership of each department will be responsible for their financial contribution to the overall company, represented by their own profit & loss statement, so they'll be trying to maximize their own one. Or it could be that someone believes it will maximize profit overall to do this. But either way, it's a finance thing, agreed. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Another wrench to potentially throw into the "will certain minifigure parts be available or not" discussion... I was checking out some reviews for some of the BDP Series 6 sets (I will probably pass on this wave and get Lion Knight's Castle before it retires instead) showed some prototype designs for some of the Series 7 and Series 8 sets. The Alchemist's Workshop set got a complete overhaul of the minifigures, and now features minifigs with one kraken knight, one griffin knight, two horse knights (from the Creator set), and the new ghost piece from the haunted house. Additionally, one of the upcoming ships has the pirate and soldier torsos and the desert castle had the snake knight torso/shield from the Minifig Dispenser as well. There's also a few parts that I recognized from Medieval Town Square (specifically, the goat and the dark red skirt piece), even though MTS is supposed to be retiring at the end of this year. We've already seen some funky parts being added to some of these BDP sets, as the grey wolf has only been released thus far in the January CMF and is supposed to be retired now. I do wonder, though, if the BDP might be able to give a few hints as to what we might be able to expect being available on Pick a Brick in the future, or if certain parts might be "saved" and be included in more sets in January. I can't seem to come up with any definitive rules or trends from what I see, though, so it could all just be nothing... Quote

Seems like the wolf are not part of the release later this week after all, Pigeon and fox are there (wonder what the price will be) Only the Friends shield so nothing much for the Castle fans as far as I could see after a glance (hopefully January) Quote
Lion King Posted October 7 Posted October 7 When will a unicorn mold form Creator 3n1 Unicorn Castle set be available on PAB? Quote
Lion King Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Please forgive me if i sound dumb while asking. I was looking through PAb and trying to find Technic brick with 11 holes on its sides. Due to my severely low vision, I could not see holes on those Technic bricks. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Quote

No, I’m afraid it’s not what I’m looking for. I am looking a part that should have hollowed studs while having 11 Technic holes down its side. It’s more like 1x6 or 1x8 brick with holes on either side. Quote

MKJoshA Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Oh man, almost 13 euros for the white fox. That's insane. And make sure you keep scroll back. I saw new pages as far back as page 8 on my search even though I said to put newest parts first. Quote
RichardGoring Posted October 9 Posted October 9 That's a very long list of retiring parts. Wow. Quote
Lion King Posted October 9 Posted October 9 ….. why they make a very long list of parts that will be retired soon?! Damn it. Quote
RichardGoring Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Is anyone in the US still waiting for a Pick a Brick Standard order to be delivered? I placed an order on Aug 9 and it was delivered about 2-3 weeks later. I place another order on Aug 13 and it's not arrived yet. Tomorrow will be 40 working days since the order. I'm pondering whether it's lost or got caught up in the US tariff/international shipping customs checks changeover. And I thought I would ask here for other experiences before contacting LEGO. Quote
eldiano Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Called Lego and told me my order from that period is being held up by customs. Haven’t heard anything since the Quote
RichardGoring Posted October 21 Posted October 21 My final Standard PAB order to the US, placed on August 13 arrived today. I was planning to email LEGO this evening so great timing. Now I can finish building a midiscale Enterprise A! Quote
