BrickCurve Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I was meant to be sorting... I think I've nailed the photography now! Quote
Exetrius Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 So, you were sorting but in the end you had a build? I can relate! Great posing and that photography is really crisp and clear Quote
Staslegomaster Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Excellent photography, how'd you do it? I really agree about the photography level. Many fans would love to know how to take good pictures - for example for those who try luck in LEGO ideas. So share your skills. I advise you to upload your creation there, too. Good luck. Quote
Graham Gidman Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Really neat build, man! Great photography as well. Quote
Puvel Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hehe, sorting is always a challenge! Very crisp and beautiful pics! Quote
BrickCurve Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Thanks everyone! Excellent photography, how'd you do it? Thanks, I used Adobe Lightroom to slightly boost the clarity and colours of the photo. I then applied a mask to the background, reducing highlights, whites, exposure, shadows, blacks and contrast by 100%. Getting the mask around the finer parts of the model can be quite time consuming though, it would probably be faster in Photoshop but I haven't learnt that piece of software yet.Edit: I should probably write a tutorial. Captain Dee Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Wait... this happened while sorting? Noooo... You're the only one *wink wink* to ever fall victim to that trap... Seriously, this is really good. The edited background really concentrates the focus and the overall composition is sharp, colorful and well-posed. Using several different types of minifigs is unusual but it looks great. Good work. Quote
KlodsBrik Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Awesome photography, and awesome classic setup. This looks lovely ! Quote
