Excellent photography, how'd you do it?

I really agree about the photography level. Many fans would love to know how to take good pictures - for example for those who try luck in LEGO ideas. So share your skills. I advise you to upload your creation there, too. Good luck.

Thanks, I used Adobe Lightroom to slightly boost the clarity and colours of the photo. I then applied a mask to the background, reducing highlights, whites, exposure, shadows, blacks and contrast by 100%. Getting the mask around the finer parts of the model can be quite time consuming though, it would probably be faster in Photoshop but I haven't learnt that piece of software yet.

Edit: I should probably write a tutorial.

Wait... this happened while sorting? Noooo... You're the only one *wink wink* to ever fall victim to that trap...

Seriously, this is really good. The edited background really concentrates the focus and the overall composition is sharp, colorful and well-posed. Using several different types of minifigs is unusual but it looks great. Good work.
