Doctor Sinister Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Well, here is my modest Skeleton Army ready to do battle! And here are their opponents - the proud Army of the Crown! Dr. S. Quote
TheFrisian Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 That's quite a nice army you've built! You could set up some nice battle scenes with that! *sweet* Quote

You could set up some nice battle scenes with that! *sweet* I'm hoping to make it even larger but Mrs S is getting a bit annoyed that my LEGO has spread from the garage, to my office, to the living room and now the dining room - a tactical withdrawal may be needed... :-D Dr. S. Maybe you could build an extra house in your garden for your lego? :-D nice armies, maybe an idea to make a" show us your crown army/ skeleton army " thread. what are the princesses up to do? Kicking the butts of the skellies? they have even not a shovel to whack them up. ;-) Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 what are the princesses up to do? Kicking the butts of the skellies? they have even not a shovel to whack them up. ;-) Contractually they are obliged to be captured regularly so they can be rescued - on this basis they are forbidden to carry weapons. Wout Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 But they may kick the butts of the skellies?, I don't know if it helps muchs when your captured by 2 or more dead undeads, but then they can see they are not totally helpless sissies. :-P Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) A very nice army, Doctor! Did you buy most of the figures separately or did you cheat and use a chess set? EDIT: 400th post; wow, that was quick..... Edited October 13, 2007 by Lt. Col. Thok Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 A very nice army, Doctor! Did you buy most of the figures separately or did you cheat and use a chess set? Some are from a Chess set, most are from proper sets that I bought - I have the complete range of 2007 Castle, a few dupes of some sets, a couple of Skellies are from eBay. Dr. S. Quote

I take it you don't think of Chess sets as proper sets? :-P I've still got the chess set on my wishlist, it's a great way to expand on my own (still rather small) army. Quote

I dunno, I still feel kind of guilty stripping it for the parts - I've even managed to take the board apart! The baseplate is useless of course, mangled and glued but the plates are OK. Dr. S. Quote
Lamanda2 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Very nice army you have there, mainly just the crownies though, but the skellies are nice too. I've got a good lot of them all too, but few skellies, since I've been eBaying them for more LEGO funds. I was thinking of buying a few Tic-Tac-Toe sets to increase my number of armored soldiers. Just remember, you can never have too many knights, so keep building that army! X-D ~Amanda Quote
iamded Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 What an army you have! This may convince me to get the Castle chess set... or at least multiples... *y* ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) What an army you have! This may convince me to get the Castle chess set... or at least multiples... *y* ~Peace ___________ Gee iamded, seems like ages since I last stalked you, well, here it is: *skull* If I were you I'd just get multiples, the castle chess set, while great, provides you with only black skellies for some reason and has a lot of "special" figs as opposed to army building ones ;-) And a great army there too Dr.S ! *y* TTFN! >:-) Edited October 16, 2007 by Batbrick Quote

Although I'm very disappointed that the archer doesn't come with bow and quiver! :'-( Quote

X-O Its if you want special figs more or armies more.\ TTFN! >:-) Quote
iamded Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 But what you're not seeing is the 'special figs' suit very well for the army! Well, excluding the King, Wizard, and Princess, we don't need multiples of those, but the Bishops would fit right in. Who says we can't have mages? :-D ~Peace Quote

X-O Its if you want special figs more or armies more. Actually I want both! First I'm going to get the Chess set, then (if there's any money left) I can supplement my forces with the Crossbow Attack ;-) Quote
natelite Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 crossbow attack set lacks shields. i much rather use either the chess or the catapult for army building. catapult is best since you get 2 foot soldiers with shields and 2 skeletons with shields too. bow and arrow, you will need to pick the castle siege for that. Batbrick Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 When I start making some money I might pick up the chess set, I'm hereing good stuff about it! ;-) TTFN! >:-) Quote
