Athos Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 You've all heard of the famous Great Sphinx of Giza, but Johnny has discovered the even more mysterious Great Binx: Steve Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Clever! A fun little MOC there, it is good to see you building again That has also given me an idea for my desert adventure MOC/layout I have in the planning... Quote
Athos Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 it is good to see you building again Thanks. I had some personal stuff come up, right about the time of a Lego Con, and it really kind of put me off from building for pretty much all of the summer. I think I'm back now though. That has also given me an idea for my desert adventure MOC/layout I have in the planning... Here is my current layout and here is what I'm working on expanding it with. The Binx will go on the expansion side. Steve Quote
dr_spock Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Clever use of the Jar-Jar fig. Not too many people use him in MOCs. Now is that a good or bad discovery? Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 The Great Binx - fine idea, fine build. Quote
gamejutzu Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) Cool. Where do you even find a tan Jar Jar head? You could also have added a Jango fett or C3po or something to parody that one Star Wars set. Edited November 27, 2015 by gamejutzu Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 The tan Jar Jar head is from the original release of Episode I Sets in 1999. I would hazard a guess that Athos has 7121 Naboo Swamp, as it also came with two battle droids (and I have one too!) Quote
gamejutzu Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 But don't more droids come in that color? All of the old droids, and even the recent ones come in that color. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 But don't more droids come in that color? All of the old droids, and even the recent ones come in that color. Yes, but that specific set had Jar Jar and two droids. It isn't the wildest guess out there. I suppose Athos might enlighten us, but hopefully I answered the question concerning the tan Jar-Jar Binks. Quote

Athos Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 The droids and JarJar all come from the first line from Episode I. I do have several copies of the Naboo Swamp. Steve Quote

sander1992 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nice! I also like the town in your layout. How big is the layout? The great Binx. Quote
Captain Dee Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Fun build, fun build. Very clever "Binx." Johnny is like, 'What the...?" Solid tan looks nice for that setting. Keep it up. Quote
Athos Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 How big is the layout? Well it was initially started on eighteen 32x32 baseplates. I enlarged it to thirty-six baseplates. And then I expanded again to fifty-four baseplates. And I'm considering expanding it to seventy-two... You can see an in progress picture here: Steve Quote
sander1992 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Thanks for replying. That is a big layout. I love to see more pics during the built. Quote
geezerman402 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 That's going to be one fantastic display! Quote
Athos Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 I hope to have it done in time for a convention in June. I had hoped to have it done for a display this month, but got sick and had to cancel. Steve Quote
Xon67 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 If someone steps on the wrong pressure plate, the "statues" on either end step off their pedestals and attack... although rather poorly... Quote
