I was wondering if anyone can help. Just finished building the crane but stabilizers don't seem to work now. I did check them at the point where I was supposed to and they worked fine, but now I've finished, the boom and hook work properly but now stabilizers won't move in or out or up and down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If neither function works then the problem is probably somewhere between superstructure and lower part.

First check the clutch gear in the lower part, it's possible that something is connected too tight and that clutch cannot transfer power.

If that works see if the gears under the turntable are connected properly. Than check the gearbox in the superstructure.

Stupid question, but did you put the gearbox in the superstructure in the proper position, the one that is responsible for powering whole outrigger system?

I think the problem is much simpler....it's actually a common one! Simply try to flip the 12teeth gears on the axle that moves the linear actuator.....

Thanks 'TheItalianBrick' but as this is my first big Technics build I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Any chance you could give me an idea what pages of the instruction book I should be looking at. Mine has the one big book not the seperate ones. Thanks again for help as it's just doing my head in.

I doubt this is the problem as you said that they're also not moving in and out.

I suggest you do this first: select the outrigger function on the superstructure gearbox, turn the motor on, than see if anything is moving in the lower part.

That way we can determine where the problem is. There is also possibility that you forgot some gear(s) in the superstructure gearbox.

well I don't know which one it was that did the trick but it works now. I manually worked the gears and that moved the stabilizers so I turned it back over to notice that the connection to the top of the battery box wasn't fully pressed down on one side. After this it all works. One very pleased Dad and one even more pleased Son. Thanks again for all your help and advice. Tony.
