WhiteFang Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Hello everyone, I am back again to bring you a new polybag review for the Eurobricks community even though it is just a mere minifigure. And, why would I even bother to do a review for a minifigure? Well, this minifigure is known as Admiral Yularen and I am pretty fond of this character due to his formal introduction in the animated Clone Wars. Well, the real excuse is for me to share my excitement of doing this review since I managed to get this polybag as part of the local promotional feature in Singapore. This is really a simplistic walkthrough of this minifigure and much lesser of a review. Without further ado, let me share some interesting bits of this character. Name: 5002947 Admiral Yularen Theme: LEGO System / Star Wars / Episode 6 Year: 2015 Pieces: 4 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original polybag image of the 5002947 Admiral Yularen Back view of the original polybag image of the 5002947 Admiral Yularen The completed built of Admiral Yularen It was lucky to have a decent promotion like this in the month of November 2015 where LEGO Certified Stores (LCS) in Singapore are celebrating this in-store promotion by purchasing SGD$130 worth of LEGO products in order to be eligible for this free gift. Well, this is a late surprise polybag as this polybag was part of the bigger promotion in May the Fourth on other marketing platforms. I am still pleased that it managed to make a local appearance and I don't have to spend additional money just to acquire the polybag itself. So, how many of you really know Admiral Yularen? Before the appearance of the animated Clone Wars, I am aware that he was part of the cameo appearance onboard Death Star I in Episode 6. During the Clone Wars, Yularen was persuaded by Emperor Palpatine to join the Republic Navy as an admiral and became one of the youngest naval officers to hold the rank and the naval commander of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker's fleet. Following the re-organisation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Yularen returned to the intelligence business, serving in the newly-formed Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) as the head of a task force charged with rooting out sedition within the government. He became a Colonel in the Bureau and was stationed aboard the first Death Star as the head of the ISB contingent and a member of Grand Moff Tarkin's staff. Yularen was tasked with briefing the Grand Moff and maintaining loyalty to the Empire, as many senior officers aboard the Death Star had plans to use the battle-station for their own means. Yularen was aboard the Death Star when it was attacked by the Rebel Alliance, and perished when the station was destroyed. On another note, Yularen's actual rank is Colonel and I think TLG is paying respect to him by bestowing the Admiral rank which I am pleased with. The minifigure assortment There are just four LEGO parts to form the complete Admiral Yularen. The design is spot-on, when it was given a white Imperial Officer outfit along with his insignia rank. This is also the first official design of Admiral Yularen. There are no alternate facial appearance. I am glad to note there is back printing. I am very fond of the overall design. Greetings! You are being detained by the Imperial Army Lead your fleet to victory To conclude, this polybag is a nice detailed minifigure with good printing with a brand new white Imperial Officer outfit. It is a good minifigure and it will be quite highly desired to be owned among the LEGO Star Wars minifigures collectors especially this is a first of its kind design. I am very pleased to have this in my collection and I hope you can find this minifigure through affordable means. Summary review Playability: 7/10 (You need to have the rest of the minifigures in order to increase the playability.) Design: 7/10 (Nice printing, but could be good if it come with alternate facial appearance.) Price: 7/10 (If you can get it as part of the promotional deal, I will think is worth to get it. As for secondary market price, it really depends on how much your wallet can spare for it.) Overall: 7/10 (It is a nice-to-have minifigure but I won't pay a premium price for it. I am glad to be able to own it through proper legitimate channel.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) For some reason I imagine Yularen was a man of duty; who participated in the Empire not because he was evil: but because he had a duty to perform. Nice fig and review. I want one :) Edited November 11, 2015 by xboxtravis7992 Quote

anothergol Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 it's great to have an aging Tom Selleck as a minifig :) Quote
Kodan Black Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I like the minifig, but given my strong anti-fleshie minifig feelings I do wish he was in the proper Lego yellow. Quote
