Moose: "Ah, Games Night! What a fun way to celebrate my recent promotion with my friends"

Alvin: "Hey Moose!"

Moose: "Hi Alvin. Sweet costume!"

Alvin: "Thanks, it is kinda tricky to fit through doors though! And I think I scared Ensign Yates on my way down here. I don't think she was expecting to meet a Cyclops in the lift."

Moose: "Hah, probably not!"

.....fshhhhtttt......

Stevens: "Hey guys!"

Alvin: "Ah, Acting Sub-Lieutenant Stevens, glad you could make it!"

Stevens: "Thanks Squadron Leaders!"

.....fshhhhtttt......

Stevens: "Wow!"

Thorne: "Hey guys!"

Moose: "Hi Katya, nice outfit, very Kaliphlinian!"

Thorne: "Thanks, and by the way my eyes are up here."

Moose: "Sorry...."

Alvin: " No Susan tonight?"

Thorne: "Probably late as always, might as well get started."

Moose: "Ok, tonight's selection is Age of Historica or Escape from Ice Planet 2002."

Alvin: "Historica! Shotgun Nocturnus!"

Thorne: "Historica! Shotgun Kaliphlin!"

Stevens: "Historica! Shotgun Mitgardia!"

Moose: "Ok, that leaves me with Avalonia and if Susan turns up she can play the Dark Mages."

Some time later.....

Thorne: "I trade the compass of Elven sight for 13 gold and recruit two additional battle mongooses, or is it mongeese?"

.....fshhhhtttt......

Assistant Tech Susan Rogers: "Hey guys, sorry I'm late, that was a long shift, but I'm here and ready for some Ice Planet act.....oh....Historica again...."

Thorne: "Sorry Sue, but time was getting on, anyhow we saved you a faction."

Susan: "Let me guess.. the Dark Mages...fine... deal me in!"

Some time later.....

Susan: "...bribe the Elf king with 5 gold to attack the Avalonian Guard!"

Moose: "Critical hit, the Avalonian guard retreat, 3 silver to you. However the Elf king is now in range of the Avalonian Light Horse who charge for...."

Some time later still.....

Thorne: "Kaliphlin's spies take the silver idol which give +12 points of mana to the temple of..."

This may take a while..........we shall rejoin our heroes next week

Long story short this is my way of saying I won't be around to build the rest of the week as I am going to Essen Internationale Spieltage (Game Fair); hence the very early build!

I like the idea for the build and you pulled it off really well. The room looks nice and that tabletop with the game is executed perfectly. I really like this and brings a cool "ordinary human" element that is often missing from our grandiose builds of fantastic adventures.

This is great. As a tabeltop gamer, I love the authenticity you captured. You can infer the rules for the made-up Historica game just from what you've written and I love that they play in costume. Really unique AG build.

Thanks for all the kind feedback. I must admit pombe's cosplaying MANTIS special forces squad provided some inspiration! Essen was very enjoyable and I now wish I had a storage bay and gaming table like my crew; between Lego and games my house is getting full!
