Rodiola Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Hi all, Now I would like to present the first part of my historical theme project. I didn't use any real prototype or architectural style. I think it must be a fairy tail castle. In the beginning, I didn't have any knowledge about building technics, and AFOLs, and different lego pieces... It was a never ending process of building and rebuilding and sometimes my kids asked me:"Mom! Why did you destroy it again?" The first picture shows the version before the last rebuilding. I thought that the work was over, but after receiving some critics I rebuilt it again. And this is the last version. Some parts of the tower can be removed. You can see testing new weapon of mass detruction: "plancton's head". Quote
Lord Tulkas Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Great tower! The second version is quite better. The wall is great and all the details too! Good work! Quote
sens1992 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Great tower!!! Love the open back and the abundant vegetation! Great job and thanks for sharing! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Wow, what a build! I really, really like this... Quote
Schreeuwwitje Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Wow! The technique to build to tower is remarkable! Very nice job Quote
Jreacher Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Yea the second version is MUCH better. The first one was tough to look at because all the grey and dark grey just gave it an effect that played with my eyes haha. Good job its a very nice tower and wall. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Stunning build! Wonderful job building the octagonal tower and incorporating it with the walls And you even included an interior! Not an easy feat with non square towers. Beautifully vibrant landscape too Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Great build ! The second version is really better. I really love the way you introduced some "fairy" elements, it is uncommon, very good job ! Quote
LittleJohn Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Beautiful build! The tower is fabulous and I love the vibrant landscape Quote
Nemo57 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Gorgeous work. The river has a slope flow. Color and relief matched perfectly. Please continue. Quote
Isundir Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Very nice, the second build makes it a bit easier on the eyes to distinguish the rock work from the tower, the vibrant flower/grass bits are lovely. The grill pieces work for me on the outside but for some reason I find them a bit off on the inside. I look forward to seeing more Edited September 16, 2015 by Isundir Quote
Stelario Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 To be honest I like the first one too :) I see there few really nice techniques. Pictures are great and grass looks really awesome. I just don't get why you have so many technic bricks. If you use more then 4 pins on a side you will just destroy whole MOC when you will try to disassemble it :P Quote
Rodiola Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Thank your all for comments. Sometimes I must to used technic bricks or bricks with studs on side because I didn't have another. Quote
Balbo Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Great work. I love the landscaping and the interior Quote
Sorrelon Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It looks great, the amount of detail on both the wall and the vegetation is incredible. This gives me a great idea for making vines and even putting some flowers on them. I got a question though: Is the guard without helmet beating those poor cats with a club? Quote

I have a funny story about this place, but no time to translate it. Quote
TitusV Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Oh, waw. Lovely, no other words for it. Such a tower Quote
Exetrius Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I just don't know where to start! Well... eh... first things first: it's amazing! The huge detail and lovely vivid colours of the vegetation is awesome! (first impression) The wall and tower have good detail and proportions. Oh hey, it has a improved colour pattern compared to the previous build. (second thought) Bloody hell! This thing looks gorgeous from the back! Even better architectural detail, I love the symmetrical stairs and the recess with the sword. Also some nice minifigs and a scene going on. (after a little scrolling down) What?! This thing has an accessible interior with great details, once again! The staples of cards are just perfect, cause everybody knows what guards do when they are off on duty! And then, there is this: In the beginning, I didn't have any knowledge about building techniques, and AFOLs, and different lego pieces... It was a never ending process of building and rebuilding (...) When did you start this project then? I mean, this model leads me to believe you have years of building experience, it is just so bloody good! Quote
Darkstone Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Great build, the colour scheme works really well and it's very effective the way the landscaping at the bottom merges into the stone tower. Quote
