The Librarian Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 So, following on from my definitely-styled-as-a-Star-Wars-ship ship and my extension of an existing Canon vessel, here is something that is only really Star Wars because I decided it is and have put a Cathar in charge to prove it. See? Fortune's Thorn - urgently leaving "Scarper lads, it's the law!" *Ahem* Let's try that again. Fortune's Thorn - crew A bold and rakish Pirate Captain and his crew (including a Verpine, or as near a Verpine as I can get with current figures). And their marauder, Fortune's Thorn (AKA an excuse to build vertical): Fortune's Thorn She's inspired in part by Dr Ahpra's starship from Star Wars: Darth Vader, but erring more towards a nautical shape in space. And bright red. I am very irritated to find the yellow super structure showing through so brightly thanks to my flash, but otherwise, I'm quite pleased with the shape. She was originally half the size, but I thought increasing her mass would do her a bit more justice. Also: guns, lots, for the shooting with: Fortune's Thorn Landed, also showing off rear guns and greebling: Fortune's Thorn - landed And an interior, albeit one that is very hard to photograph: Fortune's Thorn - captain's chair Fortune's Thorn - living space I hope she tickles a few fancies, despite being relatively off the cuff. Full gallery is here. Quote
FrenchLegoBoy Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I especially like its rear, with the reactors and the landing gears. +1 ! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I cannot tell you how much I love this... Quote
BJM Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 This is really great to look at. Vertical looks super - it feels like a bomber though. Needs some smaller fighters around it to run cover. I like the bottom ladder too. Cool. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I really like seeing your ships. It is almost like seeing another Bob DeQuatre doing his amazing thing, except your style is different. I like the way you have done those landing feet that neatly tuck in and just look like normal greebles instead of landing gear tucked away! Does the rear entrance ramp lead anywhere up into the ship, or is it a closed off area? I love how you manage to incorporate decent looking and tidy interiors. Also, good job on making it a vertical ship. It is too easy to do a horizontal ship that making a vertical one is always interesting to see, and this definitely works! Quote
Junior Shark Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 So cool! I didn't get the reference to Dr Aphra at first, but after you mentioned it, I totally see it! Keep churning out these totally original Star Wars ships! Quote
Koenta Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Very nice ship, I really like the bright colors. This is in my view the most beautiful one from the one's you have posted here. Also the pictures are of a very high quality. The colors *shoot*(I don't know if this is the right English word) from the pictures. P.s. Is the head from the rakish captain from Laval (Chima) Quote
StarHawk3 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Very cool ship. I like how you made the front window. Quote
belkor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Superb!! I love the vertical aspect of the ship, it reminds me of the Necromonger ships from Chronicles of Riddick: Quote
