mapco Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I've been collecting them since the May the 4th promotion this year. I purchased items each month and got the posters for Episode IV - VI. Last month I made another purchase to get the Episode 1 poster. When I got my items in the mail I was surprised to find another Episode IV poster. I contacted LEGO customer service and they send me a replacement poster. I received the replacement this past Friday and what do you know... another Episode IV poster! I now have three of them and no Episode I poster. Anyway, I contacted customer service again and they are sending me another poster. We'll see what happens this time. Has anyone here received their correct Episode I poster? Quote
samurai-turtle Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 If it comes down to it. I try to see if I could trade it with some one else for the right poster. I am sure you will get better results that way. Quote
BalrogJ Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) I had originally planned to collect these posters (at least the original trilogy ones), but when I received the Episode IV poster and realized they had folded it in four and that it would never look good in a frame (the folding left white paper scars on the poster), I decided to instead download high-res pictures of the three posters I wanted, had them printed professionnally and framed, and they look awesome that way. Those posters are a nice little bonus gift for people who are going to buy stuff on the Shop@home, sure, but if you're interested in the posters only, there are far better alternatives to those.. I haven't contacted them yet, I will contact them later today and see what happens then. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I'm not really collecting them, but I guess they're not a huge draw because the lady at my Lego Store offers me "unsold" ones when I stop in. The folds drive me crazy, though--it really does limit what you can do with them. Obviously, rolling the posters would make it much harder for Lego to ship them, but it's a huge drawback. Related--my local Wal-Mart had some unfolded "Droid Tales" posters that were free in one of their cardboard SW display cases, so we took one of those. Quote

How much did that end up costing? Quote
BalrogJ Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 How much did that end up costing? The printing was like 5€ per poster, and the frames I think was 10€ per frame, ordered online because that size of frame isn't available in stores.. So 45€ all told. Quote
karmajay Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) I have a 4, 5 and 6 but missed the Ep 1 poster. Edited September 8, 2015 by karmajay Quote
mapco Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 The creases are really not a big deal to me. In fact, I just have them pinned up in my office with push pins, no frame. It's good to see at least one other person received the wrong poster though. I'm not alone! Quote
droid747 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I got the first poster when I bought my ucs tie but then decided I do not care for the rest that much as these come folded and I already have a complete set from sdcc that was given away. They are smaller then the posters at lego but same design. Plus the frames should be cheaper for the sdcc ones. Quote
Tariq j Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I collected the first poster, that is ANH, but then with all this Force Friday hype and all I lost track of when they were giving them, I do however want to try and collect all of them if possible. Quote
MartinCliffe Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I have the first three, hopefully also the Ep 1 one (asked my mum to check - I have to get S@H stuff delivered to their place in England as there's no S@H here in Hong Kong). Hopefully when I go back for Christmas, I'll have all 6 :) Quote

BalrogJ Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 WHere did you get the high-res pictures? Google Images. You can search pictures by resolution. Select a high resolution, and you should find it within moments, that's what I did. Quote

Blondie-Wan Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I'd love rolled ones, but don't consider the folds a deal-breaker by any means. I've managed to get two of each so far. For the latest (Episode I) I made only a single qualifying purchase, but then my wife got one for a totally non-Star Wars purchase, so I've managed two of each so far. I'm a bit sorry to see others have had such trouble getting the latest one, especially when I was able to get one more than I "should" have, though. Though the promotion is stated to run into October with an Episode III poster that month, I half suspect there'll be a surprise continuation in November, with a LEGO-ized version of the final release poster for Episode VII. mapco Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 What the heck is going on? I just got the latest "replacement" order and it's ANOTHER Episode IV poster. I now have four of them. This is ridiculous... Just contacted customer service again. Am I going to get a fifth Episode IV poster in the mail? Quote
MontyPython Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Tell them to send you episode IV poster... Maybe you'll get the right one... Quote
Lyichir Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 By the time I realized these were a thing, I had already missed some, so I didn't put any effort into picking up the rest (despite having a bit of a weakness for amazing posters like these). I'd love to see someone simplify the graphics on these for display outside the Palace Cinema! Quote

FrenchLegoBoy Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Looks like they're doing that on purpose mapco oO I got the Episode I poster the other day, it must be randomly given and you're just out of luck... Quote

I'd love to see someone simplify the graphics on these for display outside the Palace Cinema! Maybe you should talk to mapco, the OP. (S)he appears to be in a position to help you out with the first one, at least. And hey, if your LEGO Store(s) are anything like mapco's, maybe you can pick up the others you've missed over the coming months. :p :/ Re: the Palace Cinema, I've wanted the same thing for a while. Actually, what I'd really like is an official LEGO poster pack that includes minifigure-scaled LEGO-ized movie posters for various properties, including these. Quote
mapco Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 Wow, I finally got it. This is the third order from customer service and they put in an Episode 1 poster and an Episode VI poster Quote
r5-j2 Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) These Lego posters look fantastic and are now on my "wants" list, but as a teenager I was at a charity premier of "a New Hope" in Edinburgh,at the Odeon Cinema ;-collecting for The Variety Club of Great Britain, Sunshine Coaches charity and I managed to score an original lobby poster for nothing.I sold it a couple of years later for £10 or £12 (which was a small fortune to a teenager in 1977!)...............it hurts to think what it would be worth now (especially in Lego sets!)....................I suppose if you are going to screw up ,you may as well screw up big time.
