Now, will there be a giant troll in 7979?

Or even a dragon? Or even a castle? :sceptic:

I'm not sure about this picture, it's just a display thingy, it wouldn't show all that's in the Advent Calendar.

Edit: Also, I juts noticed the skeleton snow angel. Haha.

What a cute picture! I spot one of the trolls carrying a miniature Advent Calendar (omg, a time-space paradox!).

But seriously, like Shoc said, you shouldn't expect to find everything in that picture from the calendar (although finding a huge castle inside it would be a great surprise). XD It already says 9 minifigures, there isn't going to be anymore whether you like it or not.

I've been looking forward to this advent calender since I saw the first pics of it earlier this year. When I found out there was a city one it dashed my hopes cause I didn't recall Lego ever doing more then one calender. I'm definitely getting one of these for that jester figure alone. I love the Harley Quin figure from the Batman set and it will be nice to have one with different colors.

I hope some of these will survive long enough to go on clearance next year like the 2007 ones did.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I mean, the City Advent Calendar is cool, but who doesn't want this Castle one?

Same here. The combination of the jester, the new witch and the maid make this a 'must have' set.

I'm not taking the chance. I'll get one of these when it comes out, maybe more than one for friends. If the set is discounted next year, I may get another for myself. After all, you can't have too many minifigs, right? :sweet:

The top of the box in this pic seems to show the contents. Doesn't look like there's a giant troll in the set. Like other posters, I'd be very surprised if there were. I think that there won't be any more minifigs in the set than shown in the box art though I do expect accessories that aren't portrayed on the front of the box.

Oh I'm definitely taking no chances on this. I'll put an order in for one as soon as it shows on S@H, but if it goes on clearance next year I'll add a couple more to my ever-expanding collection.

So, any ideas what sorts of accessories we can look forward to? I'm thinking barrels, chairs, a table etc; everything you'd need to make a nice dinner scene.

That would be good for the peasant. Maybe for the jester there could be some kind of court or something. A throne and/or glittering treasures for the dwarf would be nice too, and a fireplace or something for the witch.

I don't think the Jester would get a whole court. Maybe a little dais and a few coloured 1x1 studs to act as juggling balls or something. A chunk of rock with some crystals would be neat for the Dwarf, and a cauldron with a shelf filled with potions and perhaps a book for the witch. Anyway, I guess we just have to wait, though it is fun to speculate.

But the "accessories" in the 2008 City Calendar were quite massive, so I see no reason not to expect the same from this one.

you mean 2007?

i am a high expecter of this one, yesterday i was going through my brothers wardrobe and found an unopened 2007 city one, i asked where it came from and it was last years but we forgot to get it out and its been in there sicne (i did all mine though). I opened it all up and i realised how good it was, excellent MOC-like builds and such an a absolute ton of rare parts, so im really looking forward to this one now (oh and you were right about santa there was no in there, it was a christmas tree  )

No, I really mean this year's calendar. As I said earlier in this topic, it's contents have been revealed, and you can see pictures at the Trains & Town -forum.

That's why I said "some kind of court".

But with a court we would have to have royalty... The dwarf?

Ah, touché. Actually I had just found out what dais meant and wanted to use it somewhere, and I saw the opportunity and took it.

No, the elf-theme is still not confirmed by the Lego Group. There's just been rumors supporting it. But that doesn't mean we should lose hope!

Isn´t that enough conformation?

Besides, I heard that some sets from the 08 line are already aviable in normal tyo stores in Germany. The german Amazon site has listed the sets for the 30th. Maybe, the americans get now a few more orcs with the cool helmet.

*with the finger point to the USA and say na-nana-nana-na*^^

For the last time, it isn't. It's just a promotional picture from a time before even the dwarves and trolls had appeared. Sure, they might have planned an elven faction at that time, but they could've just as easily scrapped it by now. But let's hope that's not the case.

My point is, nothing is certain before we read the Lego Group say "Elves in Castle 2009" (with pictures to go with it, preferably).

Oh, and all this year's sets have been available in Finnish stores since May, already. I've even seen the Troll Battle Wheel on a shelf, although with a ridiculous price tag of 60 euros or something like that.

Even though i would be very excited to see an elven faction, I doubt a tiny picture in the corner of a magazine means anything.

They could have put a picture of Santa Claus in a sled flying into the castle but it doesn't mean there is going to be Santa Claus in the castle.

Sorry but they could just draw anything they wanted to up there to fill space.

I still want elves though , just don't believe all you read!!

Judging from the fact that it has sets and other such things inside, I think that we can assume that it is real, and also we might see a medieval Santa Claus in the advent calander. Although the analogy seems a little off-topic and farfetched...

I doubt TLC would draw something like that if they didn't want to make that faction.
