I live in OC, California, and I can at least confirm that I saw the Battle Wheel in the TRU in Fullerton. About a week ago I saw these where I work, and decided to buy them at that moment:brickshelf If you take a gooood look ;-) at the frontpage there is a thread to a discussion abot those. Btw, what do you do in Legoland? Quote
iamded Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Yay! They're online! That means they'll be in stores soon! :'-) Thanks for the news! :-D ~Peace Quote
hollisbrick Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 sweet thanks for the update *y* i'm gonna check for these this weekend, but if they arnt i'll just get a BP Btw since those castle BP's are LL exclusives does that mean they won't be at stores eg target? Quote
Oky Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 After calming down from all the excitement over this awesome chess set, there are 2 things that bug me a little: While all the pieces of this set are different, there are 2 of the same Good Wizard. Why? And why are there skellies on the bad guy side? I thought the knights defeated those in Wave 1. Did they return and fight alongside the orcs & trolls? Or is this some kind of Best Of Castle chess set? Also, can anyone make out who the king & Queen of the bad guys are? I can spot a black wizard's hat. If it is the evil wizard from Wave 1, that would explain the skellies (although it could still be a Best Of). Quote

Bad King: same wizard as for wave 1 Bad Queen: think it's the witch from the new Advent Calendar About the two bishops of the good guys, I think there weren't too many options. Formaly it should be the same piece... In the Evil faction, there are different colored trolls, but still the same figure. I would have prefered to get a gray and a white wizard.... but that would have been too LOTR, no????? Quote

Anything but two more Impulse sets stuck on a chess board. But I still love the set for its two trolls... This is certainly an army builder! Only you kinda cover all the bases at once. If it is the evil wizard from Wave 1, that would explain the skellies (although it could still be a Best Of). Well, like he said, it'd be too much like LOTR. No one's been 'defeated', I mean, just look at the battle packs we're getting! Skellie BPs and Crownie BPs, and the Impulse sets: A Skellie and a Crownie! And look at the poster on the last page of each instruction manual: It shows a big battle with the Dwarf Mine, the Castle, and the Tower under attack by goblins, trolls, and skeletons. Dwarves and Crownies defend it with their siege equipment! But the skellies have all the stuff they used to have... Carriages, crossbows, and fortifications. No one's been defeated, and that's why I love this line! But unless TLC combines forces and makes a set with dwarves, crownies, goblins, trolls, skeletons, and maybe dragons, this line is done. (But I'm sure Shakar will say otherwise X-D ) Quote

But I still love the set for its two trolls... This is certainly an army builder! Only you kinda cover all the bases at once. Well i really don't think that this can be called an army builder set, even with the trolls it's a very expensive way to build an army. It would be far cheaper to buy the figs etc from Bricklink than do it this way. Well, like he said, it'd be too much like LOTR. No one's been 'defeated', I mean, just look at the battle packs we're getting! Skellie BPs and Crownie BPs, and the Impulse sets: A Skellie and a Crownie! (But I'm sure Shakar will say otherwise X-D ) I'm not sure that i get your point here, i mean what does it matter if lego dosent show that someones been defeted? SW has been ongoing for a good few years now yet the same old figs are turned out every few years. Though i do notice that the dark wizard hasn't been seen in some time, so if your looking for defeted bad guys then he's your man. As for the line being done well i disagree, there's still alot lego could do to expand this fantasy line. Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 anybody here who already got the new sets in a local store? Quote
baby Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 The 2008 sets are available at LEGO Shop@Home except US & Canada i think. Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 i know..but i meant if they are available at a REAL store already somewhere. Quote
Vader Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 i know..but i meant if they are available at a REAL store already somewhere. Well it depends what country you are in for a start, for example the US seems to have certain sets, as does the UK but in the UK only offical lego shops. As for the rest of europe i am not sure. metalandi Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 i'm gonna check out my local store within the next couple hours ,maybe i got luck. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I just discovered something really strange on s@h: 7037 Tower Raid costs about 30 Quote

This line will be done only when they'll produce a minifig of a powerful and handsome wizard covered in black clothes, with spiky purple anime hair and with charming blue eyes! Seriously, I'm very happy that these sets are available on S@H. All the prices seem right to me. :-) Shakar Quote

Right? *wacko* By the way, I said the same thing in the 'Pirates or Romans' thread, so I'm surprised you didn't zap me then and there! X-O Yes, I agree with you on the prices. I'm just hoping my SAH will get them in as fast as my TRU got the new Castle! :-/ Edited February 14, 2008 by trooperdavinfelth Quote

What country, and what store. ;-) New Zealand supposedly gets the Castle sets April-May, but look, they're up on S@H already. And my local Toyworld has stated they expect to get a bunch of new sets in March, but that probably won't be Castle. So we'll just have to wait and see. Edited February 15, 2008 by iamded Quote
