sorry little dude. i'm on purchase mode this week. tru having a buy 2 get 3rd free sale. weekend will be spent going around all the local tru to buy all the sets i want. :-P

give me some advise here. which number should i keep for myself: 785, 1116, 3688 or 4972?

let's post all the serial numbers and see how high the numbers go or who has the best numbers.

i think those with nice round numbers will be in high demand. like 1000, 2000 or 5000. i was so mad i didn't get like 777 or 1111 or 787. wtf...just 2 numbers away...ugh!

Personally I would think a lower number would have higher perceived value but since you are asking is there a reason why higher would be more wanted? Since you probably will never sell it does it matter what piece of paper is worth more? What happens to your spare sets?

but yeah, i guess you are right in that unless your number is below 100, there's only a slight difference between the sets. it's more for pride, when i display the number in a frame it should be worth commemorating. :-P

i will sell the spare sets some time in the future. :-P

I was very surprised about that actually. At the time I was saying to my wife "That isn't fair; Lego will get interest from having that money about six months early... but I was wrong! :-$ I doubt that this will be short run set and I hope that Lego will give Australians a half price deal down the track like they did with the Death Star. :-D ( *sing* I've got... high hopes! *sing* )

I got mine today, number #6105, i ordered mine 11th Feb around 4pm GMT if it has any meaning..

the instruction manual is like a book! I think its the most lego i have ever seen in one box, i just dunno when ill have time to build it >:-(

yeah...the manual itself is a monster. it's almost like a US comprehensive map with the ring binder to hold it together. really impressive. it has 2 stickers, the MF stats sheet and a 30 yr anniversary sheet. not sure what that is for.

the bricks are separated into 3 sub-boxes. each filled to the brim. since i only have weekends to make, i suspect it will take at least 2-3 weeks for me to complete.

anyway, keep reporting those numbers guys!!!

I had a phone call today to confim that my beauty had been shipped! problem is when it does arrive I can't start building until the 28th of October because thats my birthday! Maybe at night I will secretly build it then in the morning seletape up the box and predend I hadn't done anything! X-D

Number 5195 (# pieces) would be pretty cool and a lot more realistic chance than any of the low numbers.

It's still possible to have the 1st edition: I've ordered mine just yesterday, and in the confirmation email from TLC the set description is "Ultimate Collector'sMillenium Falcon TM 1st Edit. "
