UCS Falcon has shipped!!!!

As I mentioned elsewhere, check those invoices/charge cards folks. They gave me some kind of idiotic $10 credit and then slammed me with shipping charges totaling $24. Not exactly an even trade, so we'll see how they reply to my polite, yet stern, email.

Now that the UCS Falcon sets are shipping it will be interesting to see what limited edition numbers people get. I presume a register will be established on one of the AFOL sites as I recollect a similar register was maintained for the Santa Fe engines that had limited numbers. We will also presumably get the first concrete idea of how 'limited' this first edition actually is (by monitoring the highest numbers allocated)

I have a sneaky suspicion that many of those that wanted this set badly enough will have ordered the limited edition by now (especially to avail of the free postage offer). This begs the question as to how many non 'limited' sets will be produced in any second wave. Ironically if Lego takes the view that sales have peaked I suppose there is a chance that the second wave might in fact be more limited than the first - meaning that collectors will probably wish to acquire a second edition falcon also.

in my opinion even if the second wave is more limited, it will still be cheaper. i have not seen any set that is more expensive because it is missing something. if indeed the second wave is cheaper, isn't it easy to just throw away the certificate and it will become a second wave version?

in the past, we have seen second wave sets become more valuable because of a change in parts, but never for missing parts. eg, CTT - LULS mace windu -> non-LULS MW + additional clone trooper.

if TLC were to put a chrome gold C3P0 in the second wave..... but then i would pity those who bought the C3P0 MF from ebay for $200+

I seriously doubt there will be a 2nd wave on a set that's this large and expensive. If anything, crude oil price are now over $80 and this will make LEGO sets even more expensive to produce and ship.

I checked my order and mine shows shipped as well. I did order more than one (each one on a different date) and the one I ordered on Feb 10th is the only one showing shipped. Can't wait!

And ... it's here! Same exact size box as the DSII or ISD, but heavier and with a much nicer opening method. Good stuff so far. Nowhere to build it. ;-)

I just got off the phone with S@H customer service and mine is shipping tomarrow.

She didn't know how many were, but, a second batch is being shipped Monday.

Go look at your CCs again.

I'm in Germany (more or less your neighbour), ordered on February 12 around lunchtime, and my order status remains unchanged.

alright...i got wind from my wife that 4 large boxes came today. i didn't order anything lately so they must be the ucs mf! though i was expecting 5. will know tonight.

edit: got my 4 boxes. anyway, i checked all and nope, no golden c3p0. i have 785, 1116, 3688 and 4972. which number should i take? :-P unfortunately i had to make a small slit in each envelope. hope that doesn't reduce the value too much. :-P

i was going through my boxes, and one of the boxes has an extra head. a regular fleshtone. i thought initially that was the hans solo, but i found the hans solo and princess leia in another bag. strange...
