A Gallifreyan Cat Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 MANTIS Night Hornet by BrickRailz4884, on Flickr The Night Hornet is a staple of MANTIS's military fleet. Doubling as both a gunship and a troop transport, it can blast the ground to smithereens with its dual nose-mounted plasma cannons, and then deploy troops on the ground. Although the cramped conditions in the troop bay make it the butt of many jokes, most MANTIS marines owe their lives to one of them. mediumsnowman Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Nice build! I reminds me of the Avengers Quinjet. Quote
SpacerSteve Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Way to go. Nice first MANTIS build. cool how you made the intakes. It looks like a harrier on steroids. Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Yes, I was inspired by the Quinjet, and also the Pelican from Halo. I am quite satisfied for a two-day build. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Can 5 minifigs really sit in there? Quote
LittleJohn Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Sweet ship! The shaping is really cool and I love those intakes Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Can 5 minifigs really sit in there? Yup, I got one pilot in the front, and I fit the whole Ghostbusters team in the back. As I said, it's a bit cramped. Quote
engineermax Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 You could fit at least 5 in the back alone. While we were building it he asked for 4 people to put in the back so I gave him the Ghostbusters... Quote

shmails Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Very cool ship, I really like the angled wings! Quote
mccoyed Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Looks like the designers of this ship are fans of vintage (ancient?) Earth-based aviation. Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 At least one the outside. The inside, though, is another story. Quote
