UniqueBuilder Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Title says it, which browser do you use? Personally I use Opera, mostly because of it's built-in IRC client and Torrent program. ;-) Now, what's your favourite? Browsers On Quote
Stauder Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 FireFox? What about IceWeasel? Not that I use It Opera All the way! (IceWeasel is the opensource version of FireFox as far as I know) Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Voted for IE because its the one I am used to !! Sure its not the best but its ok. I also used Safari (or something like that) on Mac in the US and its really great. Since I don't have a Mac, I'll keep IE for now ;-) *yoda* Quote
Siegfried Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 For the past three years Opera. Prior to that I used Firefox/Mozilla but I got sick of its instability. Quote
simonwillems Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I use Mozilla Firefox, mostly because my Internet Explorer crashed after I unknowingly threw away some obviously vital components.... It doesn't play some movies though, but I am quite happy with it. Quote

JoeMI6 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Firefox ftw! It's so much better than IE. IE is good, but I just like all the extra features on firefox more. On IE I sure bet you don't have a stop button which says 'stop, hammertime' when you use it X-D. I also like Opera, but I guess it's the only option for my Wii and DS. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Stupid dudes at Staples put Firefox into my computer.... |-/ oh, well. Quote
yellost Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 FireFox. Mostly because of all the plug ins we can install. But I could use anything as long as it's not microsoft. I'm starting to really hate them, lately >:-( ... I'm pretty sure my next computer will be with Linux and frack vista! Quote
Asuka Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Daktari! Ahem.... Na, Safari that is.... :-$ Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Firefox primarily. I have no instability issues with it at all. I once did a load time test on some forums where I am an Administrator and IE was taking up to 16 times longer to load single pages. However, I also work on websites for a living so I'm often forced to use IE to do some online editing as FF is not so good for that - it hates WordPress for example and dumps odd code in there. :-( Shame, as it's SO fast. I also use Opera on my Nintendo Wii and Safari just to view some pages I've worked on to make sure all major platforms are displaying them properly. Dr. S. Quote
Siegfried Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Firefox primarily. I have no instability issues with it at all. One of the many things that bothered me was if I loaded 20 or more ad heavy pages in FF it would always take 99% of CPU usage and not recover for several hours, or it would just crash half way though. This happend on two different computers, several windows installations (I used to run multiple OSes on a machine but I now use Virtual OSes), and many FireFox re-installs. However, I switched to Opera and have had far less crashes, and few freezes. I went from four a week to one a month, if that. (The only thing that Opera will consistantly freeze on is if I ask it to download 200+ files at once. It always recovers though.) This was years ago and it may have improved but I have seen no reason to try it since. One of my biggest loves of Opera ism even if the entire machine spontainously died (becasue of a power cut for example), it will remember what you were doing upon restart. That saves me so much time. (I believe FF does this now though.) Quote
john cleese Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 safari, its actually pretty good, i like it better than firefox and internet explorer. Quote
Corvus Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I'm used to IE. It's fine. I've tried Firefox at school, and it never worked... 8-| Quote
Starwars4J Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I don't understand why anyone would ever use IE :-X Sure it is the fastest of the browsers, but not only does it have more security flaws, but it holds back the internet. Because it uses such poor programming, the set of standards that the rest of the net can operate on has to be held back and dumbed down for the IE-users, which are only so-many because it's next to impossible to get rid of on windows computers. Personally I use FF, the extensions do it for me. When it crashes you can restore all the tabs (which you can do at any time with the savesession extension), it even remembers what you had typed in, what options you had clicked, and where you were on a page. And where would I be without Foxgame? Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I voted IE, 'cause its the only one I've ever had and used. To tell you the truth, I've never even heard of the others. I'm so oblivious to computer jargon! *wacko* Quote
Shadows Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Firefox all the way. I come here, I click "View New Posts", I middleclick each one into a new tab, they all load at lightning speed even on my poor connection, and then I go thread to thread harassing enlightening everyone. Pure win. Plugins to extract embedded media, Flashget integration for mass downloads, the option to switch to an IE tab if forced to by bad page coding, ChatZilla for IRC, Image zoom for instant closeup pic examination, Winamp integration, a pile of handy search engines. If it came with free LEGO, I'd marry it! *wub* Actually, I have it default on Blingo for searches, and I've won $25 from Amazon before (and iTunes $ and some misc junk), so it does come with free LEGO. Not to really advertise it, but since it's just a Google engine where they track your searches, there's really no harm in joining (and you can win some crazy stuff). Join Blingo now and you can be my friend *sweet* , or don't. :'-( Up to you. ;-) Well, always knew I'd end up with a fox ... Firefox Marriage On! *y* Quote
Norro Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Safari... God Bless, Nathan (who isn't technical enough to say why X-D ) Quote
optimus-convoy Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I just love my FireFox. *wub* It provides web access at a nice speed with plenty of add-on options, and none of the annoying security issues I've had with IE. Quote
Lasse D Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I'm also happy about my Firefox. It has some nice extensions and I'm even planning on making some to benefit the LEGO community. Internet Explorer is fine if you love ads and want to do something dangerous. It might be much better now, but the infrequently bug/exploit-fixing of that software when I used it made it easy to find something else. Quote
Zzz Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 safari for me! *wub* (works good and better than explorer *wacko* on my old vaio... but firefox wasn't that bad also....) :-) Quote
