Corvus Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) I believe this goes in the "Trains and Town" forum. ;-) A mod/admin'll move it. Nice firehouse, though. It's a firehouse with style! I mean, I don't think I've ever seen a "classic architecture" firehouse MOC. *sweet* EDIT: Nice movie clip, too. I don't think I've ever seen that done, either. A whole new way to examine a MOC! I call it, "Hands free critique". :-D Edited September 9, 2007 by Mr. Mandalorian Quote
KimT Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Nice work. Finally a fire station that isn't red as usual. *y* KimT PS: This is the right place for a MOC. This IS the Your Own Creations forum. :-P Quote
Asuka Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 A marvelous work, very neat and decent in size and proportions, with a nice color scheme too! *y* And that video clip Quote
zouave Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 That is a really good firehouse. The detail is awesome. Off topic: I wonder who made red the official fieman color? Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 A unique and very original MOC! *y* I love different things! *wub* Quote

This IS the Your Own Creations forum. :-P I was thinking since it was a TOWN moc, maybe it should go there... 8-| Maybe you should post this in the city contest thing that's going on. EDIT: here it is. Edited September 10, 2007 by Mr. Mandalorian Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I love the architecture of your fire house, especially the classical looking fountain and the statues *y* . The yellow was a great choice, it goes very well with the white. Quote
Shadows Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 That's the building I caught a glimpse of in that train station pic. I like this a lot! You have a unique style, a flair so to speak. It's nice to see things done in less traditional styles sometimes. Good work! *y* Oh, and I believe the 'red' history of firehouses came from the mistaken belief that the colour red would be easily noticed when racing through town on the way to a fire. Later it was determined that a particularly annoying shade of neon green is more effective, but most haven't switched out of tradition (and it's really a horrible shade). Add the fact that a lot of firehouses were located in downtown areas in primarily brick structures, and the red just became overwhelming synonymous with them. Quote
