:look: ???

If this model falls from a shelf, it can kill. Accidentally. :sceptic: Width - 10, length - 100.

Hey, sorry for keeping myself a bit short on my previous comment, was rather a fast reply. Nice of you to do a train in 10 wide, looking good, allthough it could kill due weight^^ - its possible, but why not give 8 or 9 wide a thought? i kind of disagree with 10 wide....Trains are not much wider than trucks, just higher and on rails. If you see a truck on a train, its a very close fit: http://www.swissinfo.ch/image/33370274/3x2/640/426/249db3676321bc3005e9c6d4682a7486/jF/p1050943-33370276.jpg . Here an example of someone having done a real good 8 wide in my opinion: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/384450. Anyway, you are very talented and you really have a nice collection of cars/buses and trains. Pls keep going, i really enjoy your posts;) greets, ron.

If it would need to fit proportions and scaling the train would be 10 wide...

why? trucks and trains are almost same in width.... the train being just a bit wider, but not as much as two whole studs (which is alot in minifig business). http://www.swissinfo.ch/image/33370274/3x2/640/426/249db3676321bc3005e9c6d4682a7486/jF/p1050943-33370276.jpg . greets, ron.

Thank you so much. To train their length is important, because the cornering radii from Lego train track is very small. Here's the train TEM-14, its dimensions: width - 3,28 m, height 5.29 m, length-21.5 m. 7 wide turns 56 in length and can rotate. And if you build it by 8-9 in width?

And then collect the planes? :classic:

We decided to collect our crafts to scale Lego City, as we plan to do the layout of the complete collection of sets Lego City. Therefore, we have, for example, construction machinery XXL, is normal size. And so we are very worried about not much closer approximation to the true scale.

This aspect ratio minifigures guilty. But I think that everyone knows that without my opinion. :classic:

Wow, nice locomotive! You got a hand for trains! :) i understand the radius/curve issue. Its actually historic and practical. I had one of the very old with blue rails at home, and cars of that era were 4 wide and brick built to not fit any figures. It was designed to fit in a "casual room" for kids to play in, doing narrow curves saves space - and lego parts, saving money for the company. They kept that practical issue until today. If we now take a look on a real train track, 1 single curve can be multiple kilometers long, in lego that could be a few meters^^ . A train doesnt turn right or left "just like that", thats why everything above 7 wide will not ride fluently or "train like" on lego rails - the curves are too narrow. What we did for 8 wide trains, was building a curve by adding curve-straight-curve etc.... until a "full curve" (9V) was done. It worked, and was looking quite realistic. Now having those modern bendable curve pieces in the new system, one could make an even better curve - its all a matter of space (and money) you got. Concerning the planes - well- an 8 wide plane is realistic, for example as a small liner or private jet, but yes, an actual passenger plane would have to be alot bigger. To be honest, the whole City Theme has serious scaling issues when one wants to be realistic, but since its designed as a toy and not models, its ok id say. A matter of personal taste after all;) lego aint perfect...

Since you want a classic city layout, your choice of scaling is more than correct ;)

Apart from all the scaling, im very interested to see your complete city moc one day :D keep it up, greets, ron.

Thank you very much for your valuable comments. Our room of 80 square meters for exhibition collection time may not be enough if you use the Flex as a rotation. That's why we are building a train at a width of 6-7 and 6-8 trucks width. And passenger cars and SUVs 6 wide. Lego City style. For children and grandparents.
