BusterHaus Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) I bought the EV3 Mindstorms Home set when it was released in September 2013. I haven't used the Intelligent brick in a while and when I took it out today, I noticed what appear to be stress cracks in the plastic case, developing in three different locations. My EV3 Brick hasn't seen a lot of action, has never been taken apart, and is kept away from the sun in a climate-controlled house. EDIT: Problem solved - I called Lego Technical support and e-mailed them the pictures while on the phone. The guy I spoke with said they have not seen this before and that they will send a new brick. Lego Customer Service is awesome. There's a crack on each side of the case on the output side: (I'm not sure why the little tab is caved in.) The other cracks are located in the clear plastic that covers the screen, at the bottom center of the screen where there is a break in the gray bezel: I suspect it may have something to do with the case being screwed together too tight, as is indicated by the misaligned surfaces of the top and bottom halves, but I may be mistaken about it: Has anyone else experienced something like this? Alasdair Ryan Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I don't have any of the new NXT stuff by I suggest you get in touch with Lego anyway, let them know and perhaps they may send you a replacement. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I have been noticing a lot of cracks in my technic parts, some of them are brand new.. I bet I've thrown away 100+ parts this year.. Quote
Jim Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 That's not good. I will take a look at my EV3 units when I'm back home. Getting in touch with TLG customer service is indeed the best approach. They have been very flexible regarding NXT issues in the past, so I reckon they will provide you with great service. Quote

My dad tried to help me figure out the steering with the crawler BEFORE taking off the supports to keep it from steering. They sent me a new servo! Quote

aol000xw Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Lego's customer service is one of the best if not THE best in the world! I still need to contact them about my 2.0, which wont turn on anymore :( I think that sometimes after a long period unused you need to reflash the brick and it comes again to life.Maybe that will help.
