CM4Sci Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 We finally have some info! Apparently the special will be premiering on Monday, November 16 at 9:30 PM ET on Disney XD! Here is a clip that Marvel released which shows the final version of that animation test we have seen and I have to say the rendering is quite nice: Wow, this looks great! Quote
Ultron Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 O jeez...Ultron's voice acting is awful. All well, it looks fun! Too bad I don't get Disney XD Quote
Winter Soldier Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I also read that Iron Spider and Spiderman will make an appearance in the movie. ( Ant Man too but that's old news ) Quote
kevkipo Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Awesome! the animation if perfect, reminds me of the lego movie Only thing is... SW and QS?? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) Just saw the avengers reassembled and there was one important scene that stood out to me, I hope we see it in civil war Hawkeye shoots an arrow and ant man is on it, really enjoyed that scene Edited November 17, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote
kevkipo Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) It already aired!? WHY EUROPE... WHY! Just watched it, so epic and action packed! i loved every part of it. It was also very humoristic, even adults would like it! Edited November 17, 2015 by kevkipo Quote
kevkipo Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I just re-watched it for the sake of it, man we need more like this! the animation is so Lego Movie-ish. And the humor is just top-notch, no lame boring kids humor or one liners, just plain old quirky minions and Tony jokes! Quote
Oky Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 I just watched it and I thought it was alright. While the animation did resemble that of the Lego Movie, the humor wasn't quite up to that standard and the story was pretty basic. It was also a shame that Spidey only had a cameo, but overall it was fairly enjoyable. Only thing is... SW and QS?? I guess they didn't fit into this storyline. Despite its premise, this special seemed to be more based on the Avengers Assemble cartoon than Age of Ultron. Just saw the avengers reassembled and there was one important scene that stood out to me, I hope we see it in civil war Hawkeye shoots an arrow and ant man is on it, really enjoyed that scene They copied that idea from Avengers: EMH, but yeah, that would be cool to see in the MCU. Every other line out of Cap's mouth was a lame one-liner (even the characters in the movie rolled their eyes at them) and there was plenty of silly slapstick too. Not exactly what I would call top-notch humor, but that's just my opinion and I didn't really expect much more from this special. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Quote
Savage Oppress Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) Spider-Man's voice sounded off, it didn't even sound like Drake Bell from Ultimate Spider-Man. They probably replaced Drake Bell in Ultimate Spider-Man or they made Tom Holland, the new MCU Spider-Man voice him instead. Edited November 17, 2015 by Savage Oppress Quote

I ment good quality kids humor, off course we appreciate some other humor. But like i said "No LAME kids humor" good kids humor, a 10 year old me would really enjoy it. If i speak for myself now, in my kind of humor. I'd say it's all right. I did really laugh at the Hydra Goon with his: "Pew Pew Pew" i guess i was just in a good mood while watching this? Quote

I did really laugh at the Hydra Goon with his: "Pew Pew Pew" i guess i was just in a good mood while watching this? Granted, that part was pretty cute and got a chuckle out of me as well. Also Strucker's line: "I'm a crazy German supervillain with a monocle. I don't do subtle." I would have liked to see more of that type of satire rather than the slapstick and puns, but oh well. what did you watch with a hydra goon? It's during the Hydra Fortress Smash part of the movie about halfway through. Quote
N_Cat Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 The entirety of the film is on LEGO's YouTube Channel now, if you guys want to watch it there. It was, unfortunately, less clever than I was hoping. Obviously it's geared at children, but so was The Lego Movie, and it managed to be entertaining for people of all ages. Even the TT Lego games, which also rely heavily on slapstick, occasionally manage to work in some slightly more biting satire or outside references. This was just tiresome. I liked a couple details, though. The Strucker line mentioned above was good, as were a few of the meta references. Falcon joining the Avengers before Ant-Man was funny, as that's what's happened in the MCU despite Ant-Man being a founding Avenger. Also, this was inconsequential, but was anyone else surprised that none of the legs had holes on the back or bottoms of the feet? Quote
