Captain Settle Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Based on the Nocturnus border, Brackenwood Outpost helps protect the region from bandits and enemy armies. This was my first MOC in a while, so I'm a bit out of practice, and I've also been away from GoH for a while and I have no idea whats going on in the story line, so I just did a random build. Young Alfred, heir to the Brackenwood lands, talking to the outpost commander. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome. Quote
Exetrius Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I've also been away from GoH for a while and I have no idea whats going on in the story line Welcome back to the Guilds, fellow Nocturnian! Khaliphlin has had a civil war recently, so nothing important, really I think the base and the light bluish grey part of the building look okay. I don't like the use of dark grey for the upper part, not so realistic imo and too much contrast with the lower part. Speaking of realism, I would place that door knob a bit lower . I hope my feedback is useful to you! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Good to see you back! We're about to head into the last Civil War chapter, in Nocty. The Black Spire is in control of most of Nocturnus, but the Resistance is fighting back! Desperate times! Quote
Captain Dee Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 That's a pretty solid outpost. The colorscheme is a bit unusual but I don't mind. There is indeed a strong contrast between the upper and lower portions but the base also provides a strong contrast, and it really grabs your attention. I like the doors but I also think the knob is a bit high. The angled lower corners are nice and the plants are a welcome detail. Good work. Quote
Balbo Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Nice work on the outpost I like how you made the wall. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Good to see you in GoH again! Good use of brick bricks for texturing, and the figs are great too Quote
Captain Settle Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Thanks for the comments! I see what people mean about the contrast in colours, I'll have to get some more bley parts, even if it means dissembling some sci-fi builds. Now I just need to get involved in some challenges for Nocturnus! Quote
LittleJohn Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Nice little tower! I like the wall texturing and the log brick base is neat too Quote
