Akkhraziel Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Just becasue I'm an equal oppurtunist, and I'm curious, what ninja sets do people have. WHat sets have they always wanted to get ? Akkh Quote
SuvieD Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I have 3346 4805 3052. Though I kick myself (not really) every time I think about ninja sets. I could have had multiple copies of all the sets and for 70% off. *devil* I was only just getting back into LEGO. I never really had a "dark age" but I stopped buying sets for a while. What is worse is that I had the money. At the time I didn't think they were "castley" enough. :'( I did find someone to trade stormies for ninjas though. So now I have total around 100 ninjas in black, gray, red and green. I mostly have black and gray and someday I hope to get some white ones. *wub* I refuse to pay $10+ dollars for one though. Ninja=awesome. :D Bring back ninja, long live LEGO ninja, ninja is supreme!!! (except castle is better) ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Shanghai Surprise, Blaze Attack, Ninja Fire Fortress, Emperor's Stronghold, Ninja Knights, Treasure Transport, Ninja Surprise, Samurai Stronghold, Robber's Retreat. I missed both the big ones. :'( Quote
Endigo Vandane Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 This list contains all the numbers I have. That's 23 of 29 sets. I still need 6 numbers to get numerically complete. Though I do have all of the missing sets under different numbers. Of the 23 I own, there are several sets I have multiple times, making a grand total of 41. Not bad for a Spacehead. I was lucky enough to be on holiday in the US at just the right time, to find the US-onlies at discount prices. *satis* Off course, until then I had no idea there was such a thing as US-only. :/ Quote
Akkhraziel Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 Wow...thats quite a collection. As embarassing as it is, I've only recently started working on picking up my favorite theme, and ony have one set to show for my efforts thus far, 6093. THat said, its probably my favorite out of any I've ever built. I'm actually planning to write a review of it for the site soon, it impressed me that much. One day, budget and time allowing, I'll get the rest of the line. Akkh Quote
The Middleman Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 The one thing I didn't like about the Ninja line was the glider thing - they should've used cloth. Otherwise, it was perfect - lots of nice corner slopes. Too bad it's discontinued. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 22, 2005 Governor Posted April 22, 2005 ALL the Ninja sets? That is quite an achievement for I have none. I'd probably branch out into other themes if I had the finances. But alas, I don't. So Pirates I shall be with for ever and ever and ever and ever. Quote
Athos Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 I have all of them that were available in the US (which I think means all but the Kaybaya ones.) Steve Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 I have all of them that were available in the US (which I think means all but the Kaybaya ones.)Steve Athos The Kabaya sets are the same, so you can effectively say you have ALL sets Check Kabaya sets here: http://brickset.com/search.aspx?Query=kabaya Quote
Athos Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 The Kabaya sets are the same, so you can effectively say you have ALL sets I think there were a couple of them that weren't available in the US. Like the Samauri Sword Cart thing, the Black Ninja Raft, and the Grey Ninja Flyer, are the ones I can remember off hand. And I don't have those. 1184-1187, are the set numbers from brickset. But they aren't anything special, that I couldn't make from spare parts from my collection. Steve Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 22, 2005 Governor Posted April 22, 2005 Ahhhhhhh... Aside for the examples provided by the Brickset query, what are Kabaya sets? Or should I ask what is Kabaya? Quote
Assassin Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 None, unfortunately. When they were released I didn't consider them castle, so I didn't get any. Of course, now I'm kicking myself because I think they are very superior to the castle stuff released now but I'm not going to pay the prices asked for these sets on the web. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 22, 2005 Governor Posted April 22, 2005 We still haven't confirmed to my liking whether Ninja was sub theme of Castle or a theme to itself. Ninja experts, get on this matter right away! Quote
Assassin Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Definitely a theme on its own, in my opinion. Why ? - they had guns, which does not really fit in with the castle range. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 22, 2005 Governor Posted April 22, 2005 Unless you look at that black and white movie sequence from Accidental Hero... Quote
Cpt. Blackbeard Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 The hardest sets to get would be 3074, 3075, and 3077 becuse they were ONLY with Kabaya sweets :'( As for me only 3052, 4805, and 6083. :-D Quote
Akkhraziel Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 It depends on where you were. I've heard that some of the sets from the second year (especially ones with the red ninja) were hard for our Euro friends to come by. And on the whole stand alone thing, I've always considered ninja to stand alone, but thats primarily because it can blend wel with either Castle or Pirate. The cannon's and firearms can make for interesting set ups, as can the inclusion of samurai and ninja into for fantastic Castle set ups. Akkh Quote
Norro Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Ninja was never my fav... and now I can't think of the sets without kicking myself for not getting tons more copies of 6045 and 3053. I think I was always bothered by too many of the actual ninja figs. The brown base plates remain one of the best things ever made though... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Brick Miner Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 i think the ninja theme must be highly underrated... as it was a supurbly designed theme. overall set design, colors, minifigs, new moldes, just prefect. i think whoever the design team was on the western series must have been put on ninja after the wild west was cancelled !!! :-D unfortunately, like others, i have no ninja sets :-( - BrickMiner Quote
captaintau Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I have none, regrettably. Ninja happened during my lengthy "dark age". Being a dedicated Martial Artist, I really wish I'd got them. I suppose I coudl eBay / Bricklink for them but money is an issue now. Insofar as "are they a sub-catagory of castle", well, I'm certainly no expert on LEGO themes but I am a Martial Arts "expert". I do know which theme they are closest to - Star Wars! Not joking or trying to be clever. SW and Japanese Martial Arts have much in common - George Lucas used Japanese Martial Arts as a big inspiration for SW. Many aspects of Japanese culture and Martial Arts theory (including Ninja) can be found in SW. I can't see how Ninja could be a sub-category of SW, but I think its fair to say they are "theme cousins." Quote
Zarkan Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 None. :-P Although I did get a few Ninja parts in a used lego lot... Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 All you people listing off Ninja sets... you're breaking my heart! [/padme] Yeah, I've got zip. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 What I would give for one of these sets. They're all just so damn cool. I remember my friend having a couple of them. It's just too bad I missed out... Quote
