tkel86 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Hi, i present to you a 0937 comunity project, it´s a gas/oil platform with 1,20mt X 1,20mt and about 2 mt of height. The structure is very light but stable and very strong, we added 2 nxt to control the 2 cranes, the perforator, and the rescue boats, all movements are automatics with amplitude and timing randoms. Inspiration: LDD Tests: First meeting where we build the legs and separate and organize Lego parts. Evolution Final project exposed at the Arte em Peças 2015: At the Arte em peças 2015 (picture with people to have a notion of size): 0937 Comunity Builders/Participants: Alexis, Ricky, Drix, Mguerreiro, Nine, Filipe Alves, Epombo, Américo Verde, Ana, LBaixinho, HugoSantos, Hugo.Tx. Do you have a video of this thing in action? The plan come up after a brainstorming, we were thinking about doing something very big in technic with movement and a lot of details and this idea was the one that most appealed to us. We already made other big construction in technic like a bridge, cranes, buildings, technic trains, but nothing so complex as the platform. The video will come later, now we are making improvements to the mechanisms. Quote
MaxSupercars Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Very good... Nice to see such a big Lego Projects... Max... Quote
Rishab N Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 That's very impressive. How long did it take to plan and build the whole thing? You also said you guys have made previous large constructions. I'd love to see those too Quote

I'd love to see those too About 3 years since the first brainstorming, we had some delays with the orders , and we made a smaller project defore we got the parts. Construction time took us about 2/3 weeks and planing take us much longer. First project made in 3 weeks by 4 people, this project helped us to define how we would prepare the final structure. Some big technic project in one of our events (technic train, building, T crane, led street lights, big wheel, etc...): This year we also made this Technic "door" for signalize the technic exposition room: Quote
Richard L aka Scooby Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Are you gonna make building-instructions of it? Quote
tkel86 Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 Are you gonna make building-instructions of it? Yeah, 500 pages of it! In fact i don´t even have the LDD of the total construction because many of the elements were made spontaneously. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) It better be able to drill for REAL oil..... to pay for itself That thing had to be crazy expensive! Community project as in a community of bank accounts . Terrific job by the whole team. This thing is wonderful. Edited June 16, 2015 by nerdsforprez Quote

Dafgek81 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 I missed This beautiful thing earlier. I love the detail in the structure, most Technic designs have a lot of gabs. This looks like a Model Team structure with Technic functionality. Super cool!!!! Quote
Epic Technic Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 How many pieces do you think were used? Thats definitely one of the biggest technic MOC ever Quote
