Robianco Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I think all of those figures look great. Croc, while not quite as spectacular as his LB3 design, looks much better now I've seen it at hi resolution, Batman Gas Mask is pretty generic as a figure bit we've covered most bat suits by now. I agree that Boomerang looks really well done. Pretty much perfect to be honest. Scarecrow is creepy enough without going full on Arkham, Red Hood's torso is great but for some reason the mask part seems a little lacking on him... maybe it's because I'm used to the more defined black lining on the customs rather than the subtlety in this print. Katana also looks superb. Shame about the lazy hick on the tractor but the tractor actually looks really nicely done!
Captain Nemo Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Yea, I noticed that, just wish it was the full thing. I'm definitely much more hyped for 76055 than previously seeing the minifigures, but I'm not too keen on Croc still. Would've much preferred him in dark green. I agree with this--although thinking about it now, clearly Lego went with the inferior olive green because it was/is already in production for Hulk.
psqidexslizer248 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I agree with this--although thinking about it now, clearly Lego went with the inferior olive green because it was/is already in production for Hulk. Didn't even think about that, excellent point.
Cammo Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I'll bricklink most of the new figures. I like most of them. I actually do prefer the Arkham Asylum Breakout Scarecrow more than the new one. Maybe the old figure with the new hat will be the best combination.
8BrickMario Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I've planned to build a new vehicle for Boomerang- I'm thinking some sort of plane/biplane with boomerang-shaped wings. I'll bricklink most of the new figures. I like most of them. I actually do prefer the Arkham Asylum Breakout Scarecrow more than the new one. Maybe the old figure with the new hat will be the best combination. I tried a mockup of that in Photoshop, and I wasn't pleased with the result. I think both Scarecrows look best with their own headgear.
Deathstroke77 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Yeah, much prefer my Arkham Scarecrow to the new one upon first glance, but that could all change at NYTF.
TheBrickBuilder14 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Very happy to finally get a good look at the upcoming figures Overal I must say that my favourite figure is definately Red Hood, Katana and Boomerang also look great. Scarecrow looks interesting, only thing I don't like is the patch that he has but not that big of a deal. Finally Killer Croc looks okay... I mean he does look pretty much like he looks in the new 52, its just that something about him looks off to me.
8BrickMario Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I agree. I'm not a big fan of Scarecrow's patch or his gigantic facial stitches, but they make him look significantly different and I appreciate that. I would have been very disappointed if he were a reissue with only the new hat, but they made him new and different, and I like it. The look as a whole works, plus, it'll work great for Arkham customs. Now, if they'd only do that for Poison Ivy...
mantebose Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Red Hood has batman logo on torso - great! One of the coolest minifigs as for me. Captain Boomerang and new Scarecrow also looks amazing.
Royv Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Atleast they slightly gave us a different Batman torso in the Scarecrow set. That Red Hood is a must buy!
8BrickMario Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Atleast they slightly gave us a different Batman torso in the Scarecrow set. That Red Hood is a must buy! Slightly? It's completely new, with the green-accented chestplate and green-background Batsymbol. It's one of my favorite Batsuits, actually. While I do think it's one of my favorite sets in the theme, the Scarecrow set sort of falls apart when it comes to motives. Why would Crane go to the countryside to terrorize a random farmer guy? I suppose something creepy could be done with him posing as a legitimate scarecrow and then waking up to attack, but what's the purpose. Instead of a city, there's only one person to scare, and it's not really Gotham, is it?
rob-ot5000 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Hmm, I appreciate the close up shots, but after seeing them, I'm not nearly as excited as I was. Scarecrow is only vaguely B:TAS-styled, but I don't care for anything else in the set, really. Blue Beetle is cool for the novelty of it, but I'm a Ted Kord kinda guy, so I don't really care. I was waiting to see better pics to make a judgement call about Croc. I thought there was a chance I might like it, but no, I think it looks pretty atrocious. I like Red Hood, though his bat-symbol looks a bit odd, like they couldn't decide if it was printed on or below the jacket. Honestly, with the weird bat-logo issue on Red Hood, I think Captain Boomerang and Katana are the best-looking of the bunch, but unfortunately I don't care about them. I'll probably be passing on both of these sets, though Scarecrow and Red Hood are possible candidates for BrickLink. I would've liked to see the Juniors sets up-close as well. I'm thinking Battle Armor Lex might look best with a combination of the original polybag verison and this new version, so I bit the bullet and grabbed him off eBay earlier today. I was hoping Green Goblin's new dual-molded legs might look good on him, but the color is a bit too magenta. Speaking of which, I REALLY wish the Spider-Man minifigs had been in the video, since those are the ones I'm most looking forward to this round. Here's hoping for more Justice Leaguers *couch cough Firestorm* in the next wave!
Marvelous Spidey Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Red Hood and Blue Beetle look outstanding. IMO they are the best looking DC minifigs other than the Flash.
Brickweiser Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Glad Red Hood is New 52, but really would take any incarnation of the Red Hood. Killer Croc looks better now that I see his face. I get why they didnt go with the LB3 look. Probably wanted the head to look more minifigure like.
Deathstroke77 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I'm still waiting for Mr Thawne. It can't be too hard, surely? They have the helmet, just need the flip the colours round, same for the rest of the body, they just need to flip the Flash symbol the other way. It would make sense, as the TV Show is getting super ratings at the moment. A set or two based on the show would be cool. Like a Reverse Flash Trap set (if you watch the show, you'll know what I mean) and maybe a smaller Flash vs Zoom showdown set, a bit like the BvS set from this month (76044), just altered with other play features. Just a thought. It's just hard to make a MOC of both figures, so some actual sets would be cool. Anyway, moving on. What could be our SDCC exclusives this year? The past 2 years have gone with a set and a figure for DC (2014 - Zur-En-Arrh Batman and 1966 mini Batmobile, 2015 - Arsenal and Action Comics #1 Superman set), so what could it be this year? I have a feeling the special figure is gonna be something really awesome.

Basically, it could be any character who won't require a new mold, and presumably someone fairly obscure and thus less desirable to the general base.

Cough cough *Spider-woman!* cough *The Collector* cough *Symbiote Spider-man!* hack! Meanwhile for DC, .cough *Shazam!* cough *Arsenal!* cough. Yeah, besides Zur-En-Arhh Batman, I think nothing's really been "obscure" and/or "less desirable." I wish they would be more "obscure and less desirable," but does Lego really care?

Basically, it could be any character who won't require a new mold, and presumably someone fairly obscure and thus less desirable to the general base. LEGO would reach a whole new level of evilness if this is one of the SDCC exclusives:  They don't need new moulds for that now But I think this goes in the speculation thread.

I assumed he was attacking a farm in order to taint the food supply with fear toxins, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.
BatofGotham Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I was really hoping for an Arkham inspired Scarecrow Have you guys colored the front wheels of you Batman v Superman Batmobile? Can you just send here the pictures of the figs

BatZack Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Dunno if anyone else has made this connection yet, but to me these figures look a lot like a Suicide Squad/Arkham inspiration I mean Red hood was a big part of arkham knight, well, if you played the game you'll know. And that killer croc looks a lot like the arkham inspired version. Scarecrow is arkham inspired. And a bat tank, need I say more
Deathstroke77 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 No. This would be the most evil thing LEGO can do:
TheBrickHitHouse Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) The video also confirms that the Mighty Micros figures have back printing. ....and suddenly I can see myself buying some of those sets and adding in proper legs... The majority of the new DC figures are superb and a couple (Katanna, Deadshot, Scarecrow) are sublime. Can't see myself not acquiring all of these sets at some point...
