Zepher Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 [Log Entry I - Lorstan II] As I glide across the murky depths of Lorstan II I oft find that I both despise and yearn for my days at University; hardly left behind and already they feel deeply distant. The comradeship among my peers and I, the endless halls echoing with laughter, sneers, intellectual discourse and debate... how nice it would be to be surrounded by those warm bodies again, those sharp wits and minds. Yet I pity them as I pity my former self. What young scholars were we, yet how little we knew of our true natures, of our very souls! Already I have spent a night on Lorstan, staring at those unclothed stars, shoved into sheer brilliant nudity without the city lights to cover them. What breathtaking beauty. And the sea, the ocean, stretching forever. What did I know of infinite? What did I know about loneliness? What did I know in those stuffy halls but what I read, what I heard - now a beast, what I see, what I hear, what I smell (that salt!) that is my true knowledge. O freedom of the soul. What I have. I call to mind now a poem by Stephen Crane: I explain the silvered passing of a ship at night, The sweep of each sad lost wave, The dwindling boom of the steel thing's striving, The little cry of a man to a man, A shadow falling across the greyer night, And the sinking of the small star; Then the waste, the far waste of waters, And the soft lashing of the black waves For long and in loneliness. But for now I speed on. [End Log Entry] More Images "Front-ish View" "Side View" "Ship Without Waves" I'm really sorry about the image size... photo bucket has been acting up recently and will occasionally go a day or so where I'm not allowed to resize images, but I didn't want to miss the deadline for the week, so I will fix that literally the soonest moment photo bucket decides I'm allowed to... it is extremely frustrating for me, I promise. I have more pictures too, but for the time being this seems like best idea due to loading and what not. Fixed! Quote

NuckElBerg Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Great, soothing post, and a beautiful little build (though it seems like that white "hood ornament" does block the pilot's view a bit 0:)). Quote
pombe Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I love the dynamic feel you create with the water effects. And thanks for the great story! Quote

CMP Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Nice build, unique wave structure. And rear view mirrors!! I mean, it looks like a giant cuttlefish, but we all know Kawashita loves their giant robot people and animals. Quote
Zepher Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 Great, soothing post, and a beautiful little build (though it seems like that white "hood ornament" does block the pilot's view a bit 0:)). This is Sci-Fi, I figured he just had a display on the glass showing him what was coming up. Good note, I'll take it into consideration for my next build! I love the dynamic feel you create with the water effects. And thanks for the great story! Love the rocket boat! The waves are an interesting method too. Yeah, not in love with the waves, but I figured I'd give them a shot at least considering we're on a water planet! Hoping to improve on them over the following weeks, suggestions/thoughts would always be appreciated. Nice build, unique wave structure. And rear view mirrors!! I mean, it looks like a giant cuttlefish, but we all know Kawashita loves their giant robot people and animals. Yay! I was hoping someone would notice the rear-view mirrors, I was pretty happy with those. Quote
