Mr. Townsend Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 What a clean build Dzoni! I really like the tiling and smoothness. The exterior is simple but fitting. Your torso choice for the guards is well picked too. I think I'll have to pick up a few of them for myself. Though its surely fitting for Samwise, I do however wish the shirt wasn't so wrinkled. Brick on! Quote
deraven Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Simple but effective. I really like the pneumatic T pieces used as door handles- that works really well. Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Another fine build, Dzoni90! Your smooth, clean style is easily recognizable. The architecture is very nice and the white and grey really look good together. I like all those elegant arches and the false windows are lovely. The vegetation adds a little more life as well. Those officers sure have some fine quarters. This just might be my favorite exterior of yours. Keep it up! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 This is my favourite so far. An excellent build, with very clear design. Very well done! Quote
Dzoni90 Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Thank you all! Here are all three buildings and army: Quote
Jreacher Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Nice details. All of your buildings are looking cool, only thing Id have done differently is make a standard color for the buildings. But your officers building looks very nice. Quote
LittleJohn Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Fantastic work! The bley/white combo looks amazing and I really like the door design Quote
Dzoni90 Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 Thank you both Question for everybody: What do you think, which faction of the "Brethren of the Brick Seas" will be most suitable for my army, if I decide to participate in it? Quote
Demetreous Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Is that a certificate of graduation from the officers' academy I see in the background? Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Dzoni90, your question about BotBS factions is tough. The officers in blue suggest Oleon, but the guards/soldiers are tricky. They don't really fit Corrington or Oleon in that colorscheme - unless they're a special force or elite group. Honestly the soldiers look more like Eslandolia in that olive green color. Perhaps the best place for this discussion is the BotBS factions thread - include a photo of an officer and soldier, and let the rest of the group weigh in. Maybe you could get a more definite answer that way; at least the question will probably be exposed to a greater number of people. Good work and keep on building! Quote
Dzoni90 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) Is that a certificate of graduation from the officers' academy I see in the background? It could be Imposing structure for sure. Thank you! Excellent work! Thank you for posting this on Frontpage, I am very honored. Dzoni90, your question about BotBS factions is tough. Tom Jurassic Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Not a forum I visit often, but I might have to after seeing this! Some of the techniques used here to achieve curvature and angles are phenomenal. Loving it! Keep up the awesome work man. Quote
LegoPercyJ Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 This is just Awesome! I love the doors and the overall smoothness! Great Job! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Delightful and clean design 'Dzoni90', congrats on being front paged too. Brick On 'Dzoni90' ! Quote
monsinjor Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Like I said few days ago on our forum, excellent. All together looks very nice and I can't wait to see the whole diorama. It will be awesome. Congrats for the front page! You're the man! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 You made it to the front page - excellent! And the three buildings work out very well together! Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Thank you for sharing this MOC. Your buildings look great. I look forward to seeing what you build next. Thank you for your answer, you are right about the colorscheme, maybe I will change something. I will look for an advice there, thank you. CD makes some valid points for consideration. I don't think every uniformed soldier has to have the same colored uniform. On the USS Constitution, officers and most marines wore dark blue coats, but the trumpeters and drummers wore red coats. I know that there are similar examples of this in each country. Each position within your military for BoBS doesn't have to be the same color, but have different coats depending upon the soldier's position. Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Due to the fictitous nature of BotBS, I wouldn't change anything just to fit the "standard" colors (red, blue and green). Your soldiers are unique and I suspect you could work them into any faction if you provide some reason for doing it (to quell any doubters). Still, it wouldn't hurt to get more input. I like the look of your soldiers and I'd hate to see them changed just to fit in - but other people may feel differently. Quote
MassEditor Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Lovely work here Dzoni, such an elegant and smooth design - which is nice to see considering this recent trend of over-greebling everything that rises out of the dirt. The staircase is particularly inviting, and I think the white color choice is excellent. Also like the various little details and texture to this build. Now, if we could just pull a Captain Braunsfeld on you and kidnap you into Guilds of Historica! Quote
Dzoni90 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Thank you all for your kind comments and for suggestions about my army. Quote
