Hey hey hey! I like it. I like it a lot. Your builds have a certain cohesive design that would make them look great together in one big layout (if it was practical...) The buildings look good - nothing fancy, but very effective. The furnace looks great and the overall smooth look is nice. I wouldn't mind a few more details or minifigs but it would make a good official set as it is. This makes an excellent companion to the 2010 Community Build contest-winning foundry by exotrator. It's such a rare subject *sigh* Very good!

Captain Braunsfeld, I put a lot of stock in your input, so allow me to explain my slightly different take on this. When I spoke of cohesive design I was referring to the fact that Dzoni90's building style is recognizable, but perhaps not constrained to a specific time period. The enthusiasm I expressed previously was simply my reaction to a very rare subject matter. It isn't perfect (no small build could possibly be technically correct) but it works and it looks very polished. I like it.

Thank you very much for both posts :classic:

Very, very cool!

Thanks! :classic:

Door is nice, small cannon too, the rest is ok, but looks a bit too modern for me - more like late 19th century... (But maybe that was your intention.)

The barracks looked "older" in comparison.

Thank you :classic:

Yes, you are right, it looks little "newer" than barracks, but barracks can also be set in the late 18th century (and i will edit my post in that thread pirate_wink.gif ) and this creation can be set in early 19th and then they could be put one next to the other, right? :wink:

I made these buildings for next exhibition of my LUG as a part of the Pirates setting and I want to put them together with a few more I am planing to build.

And in the end, we can assume or imagine that we are in the early 19th century and barracks were made a few decades earlier (and they are older), but they can still be used for military purpose. pirate_wink.gif

I really like builds from an unusual subject, and this is a fine take on the subject. You wouldn't expect an ornate building to create these monsters, but the details for the interior are spot-on. Thank you Dzoni90 for this little build :thumbup:

Well, Dzoni90, I'm back... again. I'd like to offer one bit of constructive feedback. I mentioned that I would like to see just a little more detail so I'll share one idea that might fit the available space. Compare the outside diameter of the standard cannon to the inside diameter of the medium dark flesh 4x4 round plate with 2x2 hole. They don't quite match but it's reasonably close. Stack a bunch of those round plates to make a decent clay cannon mold (yes, it will be open straight through both ends, but it can't be helped - and large cannon molds were usually made in 2 or 3 pieces anyway, so it could just be the muzzle end or central barrel section). If that won't fit the available space you could try the standard 2x2 round plate in dark orange or one of the tans to make the mold for the smaller custom cannon (no mdf for that piece, unfortunately). Again, it isn't perfect but the axle hole gives a small opening for the mouth of the mold. This is just a suggestion... so feel free to use it or ignore it! Best of luck with your LUG display. (Oh, btw - Phred, stop smirking, haha!)

Thank you Gary and Jreacher!

@Captain Dee,

Thank you for your suggestion, but I don't have those parts, I maybe have few 2x2 round plates in dark orange, but not enough.

Dzoni90 - I understand; besides, it was unsolicited advice and those parts are rare enough that Bricklink and perhaps Bricks & Pieces are the only way to acquire any significant number of either. It's a good project as it is. Keep on building!

Sorry, I came across a bit negative.

Would be interesting to see your builds assembled together, side by side.

Another great piece of work from you. I very much like this build, because usually you just see the cannons in battle, not a MOC of how they were actually made. The outside is simple and looks great, and the inside is detailed and looks very nice. Great job!
