gylman Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Here's hoping that the "special" set will be that UCS Castle I've been pushing for the last 2 years. The Cafe Corner of castle Lego. Maybe we can call it "Castle Corner". This being said, and all the enthusiasm here notwithstanding, I have to stay that other than the improved minifigs, I don't find the Castle offerings for this year so amazing. Better than past 3 years.... yes of course. Close to anything between 6080 and 6095, or the Forestmen? Of course not. I'll hope that 2008 will provide more clever and more brick built structures than 2007 did... Quote
iamded Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Woohoo! Not too much to say that hasn't already been said. I'll need to gather up money if I plan on getting a complete collection, I still need all the big sets; castle, ship, dwarf's mine, and I don't have any money. :-| But I must say, the future looks very promising! :-D Quote
Shakar Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 i can just imagine what battle packs would be like...skeleton battle pack: includes 1 black horse 1 white horse 1 black skellie and 4 white skellie plus ascesseries and young dragon(or catapult or barricade):$10/15.00 royal knight battle pack: 1 horse 1 mounted knight 4 soldiers ascesseries and catapult(or a barricade): $10/15.00 dwarf battle pack: 5 dwarves with a horse pony and a cart with gold or a crossbow cart: $10/15.00 jifel Goblin Battle pack: includes 3 goblin soldiers, 1 mounted goblin knight, 1 goblin commander and 1 troll. I'd say 10 Euro each. I'm sure I'd buy some of these. What could the goblin mounts be? I doubt that they would be horses- what do you think? Shakar Quote
Vader Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 I think you guys are thinking a little bit too big with the battle packs, i wouldnt expect anything more than 4 figs to be included. I expect them to be around the same as the SW clone battle pack, hopefully i'll be proven wrong and they will be bigger. Quote

I'd except something along those lines too, but one can always dream. :-) Shakar Quote
Vader Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Theres's no need to dream, this whole line is a dream come true *wub* Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 What could the goblin mounts be? I doubt that they would be horses- what do you think? None, let those horrendous creatures walk X-D :-P Actually I think that TLC will release smaller & cheaper BPs like 7090 for one reason: I think that TLC can have higher BPs for SW which is a pure selling theme intended for more "mature" people I would imagine !! Maybe (and once again I am just speculating) they want to keep cheaper sets and i think its a pretty cool move: for us its not really a problem since we are going to buy multiples so in the long run it would be the same, BUT for kids its cheaper sets they can offer themselves... So I say, bring 3 BPs: white skellies only (no need for black ones !!), dwarves & goblins !! But maybe, TLC will mix factions in small BPs (like 7090 once again) to increase playability ?? Also I don't think we'll see trolls in cheaper sets considering the size of that thing !! Do we know for sure that there will be more trolls ? Sure there is one on that dwarve mine but apart from that we can only hope hehe !! Argh !! All those interrogations !! Need some pics really fast :-D *yoda* Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 (edited) I am pretty sure that from what he said there will be more trolls. He said you have already seen one set of the upcoming line, and there will be more sets based off the contents of that set. So, MORE DWARVES, GOBLINS, AND TROLLS ON! EDIT: I noticed how someone asked about Goblin mounts. Lego could either make the 'horrendous creatures' walk, or make me very happy and make wolves for them! If you read 'The Hobbit', the prequel to LOTR, throughout the Battle of Five Armies the Goblins rode on Wolves. WOLVES ON! Edited August 15, 2007 by trooperdavinfelth Quote

For humans I'd say three crown knights with flared helms, and one with a pointed visor (hey, I can dream too :'-) ). I doubt they'll make a bp for dwarves for some reason, but I'd love to be proven wrong Quote

Lord Beckett Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 (edited) Wargs!!! I would love to see Uruk-hais, but maybe am I going too far... :'-( I would need an army, thousands of them... not thousands, tens of thousands...A new power is rising, its victory is at hand. This night, the land will be stained with the blood of Rohan. March to Helm's Deep, leave none alive... to waaaaar. There will be no dawn for men. Hum hum, I'll get my pills now, promise. *wacko* Edited August 15, 2007 by Lord Beckett Quote
Wout Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 This sounds very good. Battle packs?, let them come! Wolves/Wargs?, o.k. but more brick built than viking wolf. Civilian buildings?, Also a little one for the normal shops please. Castle Renaissance on! :-) Quote
Piranha Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I don't think those "creatures" in Dwarfs Mining are goblins They look more like ogres to me, which are cooler 8- Quote
Joebot Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 What a fascinating article. What struck me most was the vast amount of marketing jibberish. Phrases like "standard playtheme assortment," "instant play value," "element portfolio," and "communication umbrella." Seriously, what the hell is a "communication umbrella?" At my job, I have to work with Marketing people all the time, and the conclusion that I've come to is that they're all soulless robots. It's the only possible explanation. Quote
Zarkan Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Wonderful news, Sam! Man, I am so positive about 2008 now: besides the fact that Castle's back next year, we are most likely getting more of the minifigures seen in the November exclusive! Goblins, Dwarves, Trolls, and Wizards too! And the possibility of a 3rd year makes me want to jump for joy! 8- Quote

Shakar Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) Hey, just thought of something: what if next year the Necromancer got a redesign, like Vladek did for each year of KK? Red and black could be swapped, resulting into a new outfit that is black with bright red details (the hips, the hands, the hat and the cape- a red cape with collar, or another black/red vampire cape). Not to mention...black Imperial Guard Torso! Shakar Edited August 17, 2007 by Shakar Quote
Piranha Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Not to mention...black Imperial Guard Torso!Shakar Which would work with the Force Unleashed black imperial guard *wub* Now we have two uses for a torso like that *y* Piranha Quote
Shakar Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Which would work with the Force Unleashed black imperial guard *wub* Now we have two uses for a torso like that *y* Piranha That wasn't exactly what I was thinking about but....yes. X-D That torso is great, it is very generic and I'd like to see it in more colours.Shakar Quote
